    “The cottage was just perfect for us.”

    True to advertised it was spacious and well equipped. The comfort of the beds was a big highlight as a good sleep is everything, the bedding felt high quality. We enjoyed planning our days sat around the kitchen table. And my son loved a hot bath after some long walks. Location was absolutely stunning, with easy access to walks and the town. Off the main road u were in a sanctuary of peace with stunning views. Would highly recommend this property to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The property

Grange lodge is a detached Lakeland lodge set in an elevated position overlooking peaceful shared grounds just a short stroll from the shores of Windermere.

This is the perfect place to relax in a tranquil Lakeland setting.

Enter to the first floor where you will find a handy porch and cloakroom.

Continue through to the left through the airy dining area and into the sitting room with luxurious furnishings and woodburning stove with a wall width window pouring light into the room and of course a beautiful view towards Lake Windermere.

There is a separate modern kitchen with breakfast table, perfect for preparing a tasty meal before heading out to explore.

On this level there is a family bathroom and a bright king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room with basin and WC.

Head downstairs to find the two further bedrooms with joint access to a shower room with wash basin and WC.

Both these bedrooms have superb views offer gardens and to the mountains beyond.

On warm days relish the lovely grounds that are shared with the adjoining property, The Grange; there is also a barbecue set for your use. Windermere is a prime location for soaking up the best of the Lake District.

The headquarters of Lakeland Ltd is a must for anyone who likes to get creative in the kitchen.

Windermere high street has a traditional butcher and a selection of shops selling local produce.

Just a walk or short taxi ride away, the bustling village of Bowness nestles on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere.

Hire boats and row boats bob on the water in Bowness Bay, while Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside.

The cruises offer buffet meals and live music during summer evening cruises.

Ambleside 5 miles; Kendal 8.7 miles.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
