Wansfell At Lipwood House is an outstanding two-bedroom first-floor apartment set in the picturesque town of Windermere in Cumbria.

Step into the welcoming hallway with warm oak parquet flooring, where you can discard any coats and shoes after your journey. Look forward to pouring in the bubbles and enjoying a soothing soak in the bath in the traditional Victorian-style bathroom, blended with a contemporary monochrome décor.
Further along the hallway, you will find two well-presented bedrooms, a super-king-size (zip/link) and a king-size with en-suite shower room, where you can indulge in a refreshing shower under the twin heads, one of which is a monsoon shower head.
At the end of the hallway, you will find the social hub of the apartment, an open-plan living space, where you can conjure up tasty feasts in the well-equipped kitchen, with handy dishwasher for keeping your space tidy! Gather around the dining table to savour a tasty meal and uncork a bottle of wine to toast a wonderful getaway with your loved ones.
Retreat to the sitting room where you can sink back into the plush sofa and select your favourite film from the Smart TV. Awake from a leisurely slumber and enjoy your morning coffee before setting out to explore the communal grounds.
Venture into the local town, where you will find an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants just a stone’s throw away, perfect for those evenings where you fancy a night off from the kitchen.
The walkers of your party will delight at the superb selection of scenic walks on offer, including the ones up Queen Adelaide’s Hill and Orrest Head which offer magnificent views over Lake Windermere.
For the thrill seekers, Lake Windermere is the place to be, with a wide variety of watersports on offer including sailing, wakesurfing and kneeboarding to name a few, as well as the regular boat tours which frequently take place.
Be sure to make a stop at Blackwell Arts & Crafts House, an impressive 19th-century house filled with an array of furniture and objects or head to the National Trust Claife Viewing Station where you can soak up the fantastic surrounding scenery on a 4-mile ambling trail.
Just a little further is the town of Kendal, where you can delve into the local history at the Kendal Museum, learn more about the town’s rich tapestry heritage at the Quaker Tapestry Museum or explore the fascinating remains of the former Kendal Castle which features ruined towers and hidden vaults.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at Wanswell at Lipwood house!
The building is lovely with plenty of parking, superbly situated just off the main street and NO ROAD NOISE whatsoever even sleeping with the windows open due to the heat. You can easily walk to all the pubs and restaurants, and Bowness is a short 20 min stroll down the road. Few points for the homeowners, nothing to detract from the stay but more observations we would fix - Toilet seat in main bathroom needs replacing, a cheap fix and not sure why this hasn't been done? Certain areas dusty, especially main bedroom, but easily overlooked by the cleaners and wasn't awful. There was a sign on the en-suite door to say to keep the door closed as the steam would set the fire alarm off, but the extractor fan wasn't working, so the room quickly became damp and smelly. Fix the fan or the fire alarm? "Pod" coffee machine in the kitchen but no pods provided, how are we supposed to know which ones it takes to buy from the shop? Pillows not the best, again a very cheap fix, but is personal preference and we would prefer down pillows at this level of cost. Overall a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay again, the above are just comments that we hope are helpful. Thanks!
A wonderful modern, comfortable and spacious apartment in a great location just a few minutes walk to Windemere town.
The beds are very comfortable. It’s an easy walk to Bowness on Windermere, which takes approx 20 to 30 minutes. Bowness has lots of shops and eating places. From Bowness you can take boat rides around the lake. We really enjoyed staying at the apartment.
Wansfell was perfect for our three day break in Windermere.
Very comfortable and spacious with lots of extras that made it very comfortable and relaxing. The location is a short walk into town. Excellent parking also meant parking was trouble free. I do have to say the stairs may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Overall, excellent.
