The well-equipped kitchen has a toasty-warm Aga, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and coffee maker, there is underfloor heating throughout the ground floor making the dining and sitting rooms comfortable, practical and cosy, all the west facing rooms have deep window seats, perfect to relax and admire the wonderful scenery and sunsets with the Lake District fells in the distance.
The sitting room has a smart speaker, digital TV, and an efficient wood burning stove, here you can open the front door to a flagged patio that gets full sunshine during the summer months.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms and another bathroom, where you will find a walk-in shower along with a free-standing bath with an amazing view, the perfect place to unwind and relax after a day exploring the countryside. Both well-appointed double bedrooms have zip and link beds – just specify when you book whether you want a super king or two singles, the single room has a terrific view across the moor and gets the sunrise.
The pretty walled garden has a gravelled area with an outdoor table and a neatly clipped lawn, there is plenty of parking and provision can be made to store bikes, paddle boards or pushchairs. The property boasts hyper-fast broadband, making browsing the internet easy.
The market town of Bentham is just under three miles away, practical rather than pretty it has food shops, takeaways, pubs, a railway station, tennis courts and a children’s playground, it is a grand little town. For outdoorsy folk there is plenty to do, the Yorkshire Three Peaks (maybe not all at once), good cycling, mountain biking, climbing and pot holing, nearby Ingleton has an outdoor pool and an indoor climbing wall. Bentham has a golf club, visitors welcome, The Lake District National Park is nearby to the west, Windermere is approximately 1 hour by car. If relaxing and sightseeing are more your style, Settle, Skipton, Lancaster and Kendal are all within reach, the Lune Valley has some excellent restaurants and cafes and both Lancaster and Skipton have fascinating historic castles.

The small Yorkshire market town of High Bentham is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales National Park to the north and east, with the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretching away to the south. The Bowland fells and the nearby three peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent provide excellent terrain for the enthusiastic walker, while the delights of the Lake District and the spectacular coastal scenery of Morecambe Bay are only half an hour away. High Bentham is a busy little town with a weekly cattle market, good local shops and services, as well as a good choice of pubs serving food, while the 18-hole golf course is well known for its stunning views and friendly atmosphere. The High Bentham area is threaded with public footpaths and rights of way that are well documented in a local walking guide and cover locations such as the River Wenning and the Great Stone of Fourstones, a relic of the ice age and a spectacular viewpoint. The market towns of Settle, Kirkby Lonsdale, Skipton and Kendal are all within easy driving distance, making this lovely little town a great holiday base.
