    “The property is in a beautiful location but is in need of some attention.”

    Below is a list of things that we found disappointing, and for which we have photographs: A broken door and a kitchen worktop in need of attention. Not enough knives for seven guests — only five were provided — meaning we had to drive 10 miles to the nearest shop to purchase additional ones. No key was found for the garage in the drawer where it was stated it would be kept. The BBQ was stored in the garage and was required for a chef we had booked for the Saturday evening. Pillows that are ...

    Below is a list of things that we found disappointing, and for which we have photographs: A broken door and a kitchen worktop in need of attention. Not enough knives for seven guests — only five were provided — meaning we had to drive 10 miles to the nearest shop to purchase additional ones. No key was found for the garage in the drawer where it was stated it would be kept. The BBQ was stored in the garage and was required for a chef we had booked for the Saturday evening. Pillows that are not fit for purpose. Stains on the single room mattress. A ripped mattress upstairs. Mould and a dirty roof in the conservatory. A bee infestation in the upstairs bathroom. The pub and shop are also quite a bit further away than stated in the property description.

    Hi Julie, thanks so much for your comments. Unfortunately this is the first we have heard of any of these issues; if they had been raised at the time we would have made sure to resolve them! The BBQ is indeed stored in the garage during the winter, if we had known we would have taken it out beforehand. I had not heard of any of these other issues from yourselves or other guests. I will make sure to look into them now and remediate any that are causing issues. The location of the pub and shop in the description are from Google maps so unsure where the discrepancy is. Thanks again for staying and please do let us know of any issues during your stay so we can actually fix them!! Property Owner

  • Water sports/hiking/walking/cycling guests all welcome
  • The property welcomes children but guests would need to bring a cot or highchair for infants

  • Hot tub with views across the fields and perfect for looking up at the stars

NEWBY BRIDGE

The small village of Newby Bridge takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge.
