    “Second visit to this cottage and once again it did not disappoint.”

    The beds are super comfy, the bathroom is spacious with a great shower and the living/kitchen/ dining area has everything you would need. The furnishings are good quality and comfortable and have been updated since the photos on the listing were taken along with new flooring. Very practical for muddy boots and paws. The location with direct access to the river is perfect and if you are a paddle boarder or canoeist serve as your own launch site. There is some good outside space (not enclosed) ...

There is some good outside space (not enclosed) with appropriate furniture if you get the weather and even a bench on the riverside. Great base for the Western Lakes area and Grizedale Forrest with some good walks direct from the property. The owners obviously look after the property very well. Loved our stay and will return.

These elegant Windermere steamers ferry passengers to Bowness and Ambleside - a relaxed way to explore and admire the scenery without having to use your car.

There are several popular Lake District family attractions in Lakeside.

The Lakes Aquarium displays local freshwater creatures, right next to one end of the Lakeside-Haverthwaite Railway - take a ride on a fabulous old-fashioned steam train!

The small village of Newby Bridge takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge. Visit the Lakeside Hotels and enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats, bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life.
