“This was the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in.”

It was immaculately clean , well decorated and appointed. Everything we needed was provided. The welcome provisions - biscuits, milk, bread, butter and Gill's delicious homemade marmalade was indeed very welcome. The property is set in beautiful gardens surrounded by the Lakeland fells and was peaceful. Phil was very friendly and helpful with suggestions of places to visit. We would highly recommend it.

“Perfect!! One of the best places we have stayed in and we’ve stayed in a lot”

! So beautiful, immaculately clean and peaceful, with amazing views from both front and back gardens! It’s an awesome base to explore south lakes from and we were about a 5-10 min drive from many attractions and walks but away from the hustle and bustle at the same time. Only downside - if that - would be that we would have loved to have met the hosts, especially as all the previous reviews mentioned how lovely they are! Nevertheless, we hope to be back one day (it’s very rare we say that about anywhere we’ve stayed)!

When you turned onto Back Lane from the A590, each map app asked you to turn right approximately one hundred yards prior to the turn towards the accommodation. “The cottage was clean and comfortable, set in spectacular gardens.”

The owners were friendly, helpful but not intrusive. There was plenty of information, maps and walking routes of the area as it is an ideal base for walking. My only minor criticism concerns eating arrangements. The breakfast bar in the kitchen is OK for breakfast, but I prefer a table for the evening meal. We visited in mid October so not possible to eat outside where there is garden furniture. A small table inside would be lovely. Pam

My only concern as an older person is that the sofa is too low to the floor and so very hard to get out of - please could you consider raising it on blocks - easily available - to make sure that it is truly comfy for all. Weather was mixed but we still had a very good holiday. Thank you we would definitely recommend you to anyone.

The accommodation was immaculate and could not be faulted. Much thought has gone into the preparation of the property to ensure we had the best possible stay. “One of the absolute best places I have stayed!”

From start to finish, I really did feel at home. There was nothing I needed that wasn't available through my stay. I was able to choose walks based off their recommendations within the area and found myself having a really great time. I had never been to the Lakes so I found that the welcome information I was given by email and in the suite, was extremely useful. Location wise, it was perfect. I couldn't have chosen a better place to stay, everything seemed to be within 10-20 minutes of the suite and the roads were really quiet so I found the drives really enjoyable. Gill and Phillip went above and beyond from a hosting perspective and I am ever so grateful for the experience. I really would love to stay there again. I was able to speak to Gill and Phillip through my stay and I am really happy I did, they are a wonderful couple and I hope that future guests appreciate the space they have created for others'.

The Garden Suite at Fiddler Hall Barn is a haven for nature lovers and adventurers alike, and it's the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring.

A delightful garden greets you at the foot of this lovely dwelling, enticing you to take a seat and soak in your peaceful surroundings for a moment before entering your new home-away-from-home to begin your staycation. A well-presented studio-style living area greets you upon arrival, thoughtfully laid out with a snug sitting area gathered in front of a Smart TV and a sumptuous king-size bed taking centre stage.

The kitchen/diner leading off from the sociable space is equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge freezer and other helpful utilities.

Alfresco dining is a wonderful way to take advantage of your fellside location enjoying the night sky whilst sipping your favourite beverage. The tranquil countryside that surrounds your holiday home provides the perfect setting for long walks; grab your walking boots and climb the neighbouring fells including Gummers How, which offers magnificent views of Lake Windermere and The Lake District mountains beyond. Explore Lake Windermere and Coniston Water where you can Canoe, Kayak or Paddle board.
