Absolutely spotless, well equipped kitchen, fabulous comfy bed with crisp, clean bedding, comfortable lounge and the little study area is so peaceful for reading and watching the glorious sunsets.

Wonderful hosts, Andy and Lyndsay, make this a perfect retreat and ideal for touring this wonderful area. This was our third visit and are hoping to return again soon.

Accommodation was very clean and comfortable.

The decor was brilliantly arranged, with extra finishing touches. The hosts, Andy and Lindsay, were very friendly and sociable, never too busy for a chat. Would thoroughly recommend staying at this cottage.

This out of the way cottage location was perfect for us.

Our hosts on this working farm and their family were lovely people always happy to chat and ready to respond to any questions. In our opinion the property was excellent, clean and well equipped. A small but well attended garden to the front made a great view when dining and had a picnic table for days of sunshine. A place to rest and relax, away from the demands of everyday life. Would we go there again, yes of course!

Outstanding in every way.

The cottage is immaculately presented,-the care & attention to detail that has gone into making it comfortable is obvious- it is beautiful. My hosts were friendly & welcoming & I felt they really cared that I enjoyed my stay. I shall definitely return & have recommended it to friends.

A fantastic cottage, fully equipped with everything you need and spotlessly clean.

Although conveniently situated just off the A66, you can not hear any traffic noise whatsoever. Only the wind through the trees and the birds singing. The owners are non-intrusive but were incredibly friendly and helpful when I did bump into them. Brough and Kirkby Stephen are within easy reach, and both the Dales (Muker, Hawes, etc) and the Lakes (eastern fells and Ullswater) are reasonably close by. I like to visit a different property each time I visit Cumbria, but this is one I would definitely go back to.

Cannot believe my luck that I booked La'al Cragg.

If anything, it was even better than the photos. The decor is relaxing, not cluttered and certainly not twee - Lyndsay has a great eye. We were always beautifully warm and cosy. The cottage was really well equipped. My only regret was forgetting to check the make of the duvet, because it was heaven. The hosts could not have been lovelier; so friendly but in no way intrusive. We had some lovely chats , and when the ice was bad, Andy offered to get anything we might have needed. So , so happy we found this cottage. We'd made another booking before we left

We had a wonderful stay at The LA'AL Cragg!

We booked this cute little cottage as a Winter getaway in the last week of November, and despite the cold outside, our stay couldn't have been warmer or cosier. It was perfectly clean and matched all the pictures advertised, and had such a stunning view of the rolling hills and some farm animals the owners keep onsite. The bed was so comfy and the living room was comfortable and welcoming, especially with the fire on! It was the perfect base to explore Cumbria while also having some relaxing days in with board games and wine. Our host was also lovely and gave us some recommendations of nice places to visit. Would definitely stay here again!

We were made very welcome and comfortable. The cottage is in an amazing setting with stunning views. We had an amazing break .

A brilliant property for a break.

Lovely setting and great location for the Lakes,Dales and Pennines... the hosts were friendly and very helpful making the stay one of our most treasured holidays. We would hope to return. The animals on the small holding are great to see as well. Its a beautiful area.

For our 25th anniversary we wanted a total chill out and this was perfection.

Ideally located for exploring both The Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. Has the feeling of remote beauty but within easy reach of Kirkby Stephen. Everything was spotless and just as described in the listing. Help was just next door if needed, but we felt totally relaxed and enjoyed the peaceful and stunning surroundings. The house is very well equipped and comfortable. The amusing animals outside are a bonus!

This is a little gem of a cottage.

Immaculately clean, well maintained and equipped. Watching the animals antics provide lots of laughs, everyday day it seems there's something new to see. Perfect, too, for star gazing and meteorite watching. Civilisation feels to be a long way off yet Kirkby Stephen is only 20 minutes away and provides all amenities plus great walks, Franks Bridge is certainly worth a visit. The owners, Andy and Lindsay, along with their sons, Sonny and Isaac, are the most kind, thoughtful, considerate people, with a great sense of humour and will happily help to make your stay memorable, ours certainly was. Very highly recommend.

Beautiful views from the windows. The animals were a joy to watch and meet. Most entertaining. We appreciated the welcome gifts. Andy, Lindsey and family were super, generous hosts. We were made so welcome and felt relaxed. We had our own garden and privacy. It was peaceful and tranquil. Just right for the rest we needed. Clean and well equipped. We were awaiting the birth of a foal, it happened after we left. We were kindly sent pictures of Rockey the colt. We really appreciated such thoughtfulness. Thank you. Stephen & Hazel

Beautiful cottage in lovly area.

Spotlessly clean, comfortable, with some interesting books on local area. Hosts are friendly and kind. Hopefully we will visit again in the future.

A lovely, comfortable cottage, nicely furnished and spotlessly clean.

The views from the cottage are amazing and so many interesting places are easily accessible. We enjoyed seeing the animals especially the lambs and goats; to see them roaming around was amusing. Andy and Lindsey are very friendly hosts, always ready to help if needed. Our time at La’al Cragg was so enjoyable, wonderful weather, lots to do, great cottage, friendly neighbours - both animals and people! Thank you.

the property was furnished to a high standard and was cosy and comfortable. The owners very friendly and allowed to lot round the farm and animals. Would certainly recommend it to anyone who wants a week away to relax. The scenery from the cottage is lovely.

A charming remote cottage, lovely to see the animals out the window.

Lovely and peaceful and quiet. Very comfy bed. Every welcome pack is different; we generally prefer milk instead of wine, so we can have tea on arrival. Hosts were friendly when husband bumped into them. The cottage is old, as most old property can be a little damp, but this should not impact on visit. We had a great holiday, and very comfortable.

La'al Crag was a completely idyllic retreat that gave us a well earned break ftom the stresses of life!

We absolutely loved the peace and quiet with the only sounds being the occasional bleating of the really cute goats. The cottage was warm and welcoming, as were the surprise gifts of biscuits and wine from the hosts. The most comfy bed awaited us after an evening spent in front of the log fire and the hosts were only next door if needed. Thank you x

Thoughtfully decorated and well equipped. Extremely peaceful and relaxing location with plenty to do, including walks from the door and lots in the area. Friendly but not intrusive owners. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

We stayed in La’al in June, seeking the peace, quiet and beauty of the area.

The cottage is beautifully situated, nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked from scratch every evening without difficulty. The owners, Andy and Lindsay, live next door to the property and were delightful - friendly and helpful but never intrusive. We enjoyed watching the horses and goats in the evenings, as well as the local wildlife in the immaculate garden. There was plenty to do in the local area and the countryside was stunningly beautiful. We loved it so much that we fully intended to book again in August but someone else got there first. Lucky them!

Beautifully restored old farmhouse keeping most of the original charm but equipped for modern comfort.

The views were gorgeous and the cottage's garden was well-kept. Horses and goats are on site and add another charm to the holiday experience. We found the owners to be friendly and being next door meant that if there had have been any problems (which there weren't) they would have helped. A fantastic, quiet retreat where you can chill out in comfort.

LA'AL Cragg is the most beautiful cottage, not only it was completely spotless and beautifully furnished, with a perfect garden, but the owners have thought of everything.

We absolutely loved the cottage and its surroundings. The owners were so kind and thoughtful and we loved the eggs and the welcome basket - thank you! We had the most wonderful time, but best of all was being able to relax in the peace and tranquilly of LA'AL Cragg, feeding the ponies and listening to the birds.This really is a hidden gem. A wonderful, well-equipped and spotless cottage.

A great location for cycling in the Yorkshire Dales, as well as walking in The Lakes. Lovely to see the sheep and ponies every morning out of the window, before the stunning views. A place we would definitely recommend and hopefully return to ourselves. We loved it!

Absolutely beautiful genuine cottage home.

If you’re looking for a getaway within Lake District area. This is the go to place!! Everything you need from biscuits to a tumble dryer they have it. Really nice farm area and very incognito away from the world. The owners next door are really nice. Thanks for having us Andy. Do have to say really like the honesty box. I bought a few items that caught my eye. God bless thanks again!

Anyone who wants a peaceful relaxing location this is the ideal spot,very friendly and helpful hosts, nothing too much trouble

La'al crag is a lovely property, very comfortable and attractively presented.

The owners, who live in the adjoining building could not be more helpful and welcoming. They keep fell ponies, goats and a few other animals which are a pleasure to see. The property is off the beaten track in a very rural area, which is great if you like walking and open countryside; we had a great week and were lucky to have dry weather. There are castles, churches and villages which are worth visiting within reasonable driving distance.

The cottage is so beautifully decorated and everything is to a high standard.

There is everything that you need for a comfortable and pleasant stay. The only thing which is required are curtains to the kitchen and lounge downstairs as this will provide more privacy to guests whom stay there. The location is amazing and the owners are very nice people. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants a lovely and relaxing break away.

If you are looking to get away from noisy city life and need peaceful/romantic location with lots of hike routes in national parks, you should stay in LA'Al Cragg.

Our stay at La’al Cragg was a joy from start to finish.

The property is set on a farm and surrounded by fields and peace and calm. Just what we needed after a busy few months. The owners were really friendly and helpful. Nothing was a bother. The house was warm and cosy and the kitchen was amazing as was the log burner. A property we would like to return to next year.

The owners have thought of everything to make this cottage a comfortable experience. I was pleased to find the wi fi working efficiently and there is a smart TV to keep you entertained in the evening. This is a great property with a beautiful private garden with everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay.

The cottage had been recently refurbished to a very high standard and the owners were always around if you needed anything. The location is a great central point to visit many areas Teesdale, Eden Valley, Howgills, Swaledale and its not that far to the Lake District. I do hope to return next year. Thanks for a brilliant last minute get away.

It was so lovely, peaceful and quiet, exactly what we needed for a getaway from the city. Perfect base for exploring the surrounding area, which is beautiful and full of hills to climb. Everything in the cottage was perfect. Highly recommend and we will definitely be booking again in the future.
