Lovely clean comfortable property .

This was our second visit & would definitely like to return any Season. Carole the owner is very welcoming & obviously concerned that you enjoy your stay.I am very selective where I choose to stay as I do not book properties which allow dogs plus Sun Inn down the road also does not allow dogs so a very lovely dining experience as far as I am concerned.

Friendly and helpful communication with the owner. Bedding and towelling good quality and beds comfy. Only, very minor, downside is that the sitting room is very bland, there is no cheerful colour in it at all. Loved the pot of cyclamen on the table outside and the roses on the kitchen windowsill.

Carole the owner provided first class welcome goodies & greeted us on arrival which was very much appreciated. There is an excellent pub just down the road which serves home produce at reasonable prices & thankfully does not allow dogs thus creating a fresh pleasant dining experience.We hope to return Thank you Carole & staff at the Sun Inn.

An excellent base for exploring the area, in a charming village with a good pub.

Welcome note and provisions wating for us on arrival were very thoughtful.

This is a lovely cottage, placed ideally in a quaint, quiet village.

Everything you need for a quiet, relaxing break - the offroad car parking is spacious in the rear of the property and easy access roads back to Penrith for all the shops, pubs, restaurants, cinema etc all that you would want. Down the hill is the lovely Sun Inn pub serving plenty of beer and wine choices and excellent, large ! meals at very sensible prices. We have been to this cottage at least 4 times and will return. Eh said!!

This was our 2nd stay at Carole's cottage and it was just as we remembered.

The cottage is in a row of three, in a small and quiet village. There's plenty parking space to the rear - there's a table and chairs set up here too. It's quite a wee suntrap! The cottage is bright & airy and very clean. There's a fairly large, modern equipped kitchen with everything you'd need, including dishwasher and washing machine. The latter is in a small entryway porch, alongside the boiler. The living room has a TV, leather suite and traditional style furniture, with windows opening onto a small garden. Two double rooms upstairs, the larger of these has windows on both sides. There's plenty storage space in both. The bathroom has a large bath and an overhead shower. Carole left us a small 'welcome gift' on both our visits which was a nice surprise. Location wise - it's a 10 minute journey to Penrith with all other main routes easily accessible. This is a lovely, well maintained and tastefully decorated cottage that blends traditional looks with modern day needs.

This property was easy to find and easy to park which is always a bonus in the lakes.

Its an old cottage which has been modernised to a good standard. We loved the fresh milk, nice tea brands, wine and cookies provided by the owner. Loads of bedding and towels provided. All useful as it rained a lot! Bathroom was nice and warm useful when you get in cold from a long walk. Penrith is close by so easy to buy in food supplies. Lovely walks and bike rides from the house. Pooley Bridge well worth a visit. Friendly local folk and nice local pub were all the benefits. The only things outstanding were small bits of maintenance like the light in the electric fire not working, the place was cold and smelt a bit damp the day we arrived (24 hours with the heating on sorted it out and its an old property so to be expected) . A couple of plug sockets in the big bedroom not working properly (funny clicking noise when i plugged in my computer cable which was fine in other sockets). When you open the fridge door it crashes into the wall clock. None of these a deterrent and I'd stay again happily.

The cottage is an ideal place for a stay in the north Lakes.

It is cosy, well maintained and well equipped. Great off road parking to the rear of the property and well off the (quiet) road through the village. A short stroll to The Sun Inn which is excellent.

The cottage is very clean, spacious and really good value for money.

The location is excellent and very convenient for visiting Penrith and the north of the Lake District. The welcome pack was a very nice gesture and much appreciated. Carole the hostess was at hand if we needed anything. Well worth a visit for someone who’s not a walking but need peace and tranquility.

Lovely welcome items to start the holiday. Carol was a very good host and kept us informed of things before we arrived. The Sun Inn pub literally five minutes walk has excellent quality food and reasonable prices. It was a good central location to travel north or south around the area. So much to see and do in The Lake District and we love it. We will definitely be returning.

A lovely cottage, well maintained,good facilities, very comfortable.

This is a very pleasant property, calm and tasteful.

Internet good, parking good, big bed very comfortable (a little firm as I like it), communication 1st class. I chose the location near Penrith so that I could access the Lakes, the North Pennines or the Eden Valley and that worked beautifully. Also there's a Booths supermarket a few minutes drive.

We had a lovely stay in this cottage which is tucked away in a peaceful village.

It was very well equipped and comfortable. It was spacious and nicely furnished and decorated. We loved having off-road parking and the use of outside facilities including a shed and a covered washing line. The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating without being in the least bit intrusive. We especially appreciated the big jug of fresh yellow roses and a box of biscuits to go with the tea and coffee supplies which had been left for us. Thank you so much.

Excellent stay, beautiful cottage very central for lake district.

Owner very nice lady. On the downside, could do with downstairs wc. But we managed. Also beds over firm for our taste.

Having stayed at this wonderful place two times already, we are delighted to leave more 5 star reviews again!

We love this place and will happily quote "its just feels like home". The place is always spotless and the welcoming flowers, coffee, milk - even chocs! plus jams make the return to stay so lovely. A very quiet place, set in a lovely location with the Sun Inn Local pub a very short walk away. East access to the top of the Lakes or explore North and Western areas. Love it and we shall return AGAIN!

A beautiful cottage, tastefully decorated, well equipped,, clean and with parking , a real bonus.

Cottage was comfortable, spotlessly clean and superbly equipped with every requirement.

Clearly cared for with pride by the owners. Excellent wifi, TV, central heating, comfy beds. Lots of off road parking. We were well pleased with our stay.

Sykes were very good at communicating with us, and Carole was equally good at keeping us informed.

She went out of her way to give us information, and left us some nice treats in the cottage. The pictures and ornaments were beautiful, there is obviously a lot of love, care and attention to detail invested in the property. We were very happy with our stay.

A truly wonderful end terrace cottage - we love it here (having been several times) and shall return again!

Everything that you would need is here including peace and quiet, sun trap rear patio area, great car parking off the road an a great country pub (that serves excellent food and ales) only a very short walk away. A real gem !!

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Very well equipped and had lots of thoughtful extra touches - including "things you may have forgotten". Lovely sunny patio, lots of room to park, and only a few minutes from Penrith. Hope to return!

A great property in a quiet village ideally placed for quick and easy travel to Penrith and beyond.

The cottage had everything we needed for our week away, including the useful household items you need but don't want to bring but are never sure will be there (iron, ironing board, hairdryers, towels, tea-towels etc) as well as a generous and well received welcome basket of goodies (tea, coffee, fruit, biscuits etc etc etc!) to get you settled in after your journey there. Would recommend without exception and will visit again if we get the chance - many thanks!!!

We were celebrating a special anniversary and our host went out of her way to welcome us which we found very touching.

The cottage was very clean, well equipped and everything was in excellent condition. The beds were extremely comfortable. The living room sofa was also comfortable and it was a lovely, spacious, but cosy room to sit in during the evening. Plenty of local information was available.

We have very much enjoyed our stay in 3 Springfort Cottage.

The accommodation is very comfortable, attractively decorated and furnished. We were made to feel most welcome by the owner, Carole. The cottage is in an excellent location, situated in a pretty village, with an excellent pub just along the road which serves good food and gives friendly service. Lots of things to do in the surrounding area including country walks, National Trust properties and varied and interesting shops, museum etc in Penrith and Carlisle. We have had an excellent holiday and hope to return.

The owner made us feel very welcome and couldn’t do enough for us to enjoy our stay.

The welcome gifts were really lovely and unexpected.
