“The cottage is an ideal place for a stay in the north Lakes.”

It is cosy, well maintained and well equipped. Great off road parking to the rear of the property and well off the (quiet) road through the village. A short stroll to The Sun Inn which is excellent.

Be charmed by the well-maintained garden nestled at the foot of this lovely dwelling, offering a lovely spot to soak in the evening sun, before kicking off your shoes as you step over the threshold and into your delightful holiday home.

After an action-packed day, put your feet up and unwind with a cup of tea and a leisurely seat in front of the television in the sitting room, enveloped in the warmth of the glow from the electric fire.

Venture through to the kitchen/diner, traditionally decorated with farmhouse-style furnishings, housing all of the essential amenities required to cook up a storm, gathering your loved ones around the dining table that takes centre stage in the sociable space to serve your culinary delights.

If you're lucky enough to experience the warmer weather, take your experience outdoors to indulge in a spot of alfresco dining on the patio, soaking in the peaceful setting of your private space as you toast a glass of fizz to an unforgettable holiday.

When the evening grows darker, climb the stairs to the first-floor and prepare for bed with a luxurious soak amongst the bubbles in the family bathroom, before retiring for the evening to one of the two bedrooms, with the choice between a king-size and a double, both beautifully-appointed with a neutral interior and offering a calming ambiance to rest your head.

Take a break from doing the cooking and take the short stroll to the nearby quintessentially English village pub, The Sun Inn, and indulge in a home-cooked meal prepared with locally sourced ingredients in a family-friendly and cosy atmosphere; after satisfying your appetite, enjoy a leisurely walk in the countryside.

There's a host of things to do and see in the popular town of Penrith, including the medieval ruins of Penrith Castle, dating back to the 14th century, and the fascinating exhibitions of local history on display at Penrith and Eden Museum, or if that's not your thing, test your swing with a round of golf at the towns 18-hole course.

Avid outdoor adventurers are spoilt for choice with the plethora of walking, cycling and hiking routes available from your doorstep, with the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines both within easy reach; tackle the challenging climb to the summit of Scaffel Pike, the highest mountain in England, or marvel at High Force Waterfall as it cascades 69ft through a secluded forest.

The border city of Carlisle has much to offer including Hadrian's Wall, Carlisle Cathedral, Cumbria's Museum of Military Life, Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, as well as a wealth of pubs and restaurants where you can refuel and relax.
