    “Lovely property with great facilities.”

Plenty of room for 8 adults giving you your own space if needed. Central heating kept the property very warm. The location for Ambleside town centre is excellent albeit quite a steep walk back. I would definitely recommend and use this property again.

Hillhead is a popular property whatever the time of year and much loved by guests for bringing groups of family and friends together. The property is built into the hillside and the living areas are all on the ground floor as you enter the property along with one of the bedrooms and adjacent shower room.

The main lounge is a bright and airy room which opens to a large balcony with beautiful views across the roof tops to Wansfell to the east and Loughrigg and the distant Coniston Fells to the west.

Double doors open the lounge up to the family kitchen dining area which includes a reading area with great views and a cosy log burning stove.

A second, smaller lounge is also on this floor providing twin sofas, a further flat screen television and a games console.

Also on this floor is the utility room providing laundry and and drying facilities; Hillhead provides accommodation whatever the weather!

On the lower ground floor there are a further three bedrooms, two with ensuite bathrooms and a further family shower room. The bustling village of Ambleside offers a great selection of local bars, restaurants and cafes along with a great range of local shops many selling local produce.

Situated in the heart of the Lake District there are a myriad of walks from the door, follow in the footsteps of William Wordsworth and enjoy an afternoon stroll to Grasmere, the more adventurous might head right out of the door directly onto the footpath to Fairfield Horseshoe, a favourite of many a Lakeland Fell walker, and if you believe a little effort deserves a reward why not watch the sunset from the top of the nearby Wansfell! == Accommodation in detail The front door of Hillhead Cottage opens to a hallway that leads the bright and airy lounge with comfortable sofas set around the coffee table and positioned to take in the best of the views.

The family dining table is a great place to gather as a family for breakfast or in the evening for dinner with friends.

A cosy log burning stove and a couple of comfortable armchairs looking out across the beautiful view are a great place to relax with a good book or the morning papers. Also leading off the hallway from the front door is the first of Hillhead's four bedrooms.

An adjacent shower room offers a shower cubicle, basin and WC. The second lounge is stylishly finished with comfy sofas, large screen TV and a games console.
