“Excellent house, perfect for our group as we were there primarily for a walking holiday.”

Easy access to the hills. Centre of Ambleside not too far although it is slightly up hill on the way back!

Finished to the highest standard, this smart contemporary Lakeland home offers high quality, comfortable accommodation, within a few minutes’ walk of the hustle, bustle, shops and bars of the village of Ambleside, lovely views from just about every room, and easy access to walks (the iconic “Fairfield Horseshoe” walk goes past the front door!) and mountain bike routes of all standards. The owners have created a fantastic social space that benefits from stunning views to Loughrigg Fell and the surrounding hills.

The living space is cleverly zoned in to areas for relaxing, dining and cooking, with sumptuous sofas, log burning stove, a large family dining area and high quality kitchen.

Presented with six bedrooms, including one on the ground floor, and benefiting from five ensuite facilities and a family bathroom Wynford offers all the flexibility you could need. The village centre of Ambleside is just a five minute walk from the cottage with a great array of local shops, popular restaurants and cafes and welcoming Lakeland pubs.

Lake Windermere is a mile from the cottage and walks of all standards abound. Accommodation In Detail A narrow lane winds up from the village to Wynford that sits in an elevated position looking out across the valley.

The front door opens to a hall way with plenty of space for boots and coats before opening into bright and spacious living accommodation, large picture windows run right across the property allowing the light to flood in and offering the stunning scenery of the valley to fill the room.

Cleverly zoned, the living accommodation is divided into four areas.

A large comfortable leather corner sofa complemented by smaller sofas and armchairs that are arranged around the TV and gas log flame effect) stove in the lounge area. A large family dining table is, of course, the focal point of the dining area and is simply ideal for celebratory meals, hearty family breakfasts or relaxing, social dinners with friends.

A further log burning stove and a large screen TV and another sumptuous leather sofa form and excellent breakout space to enjoy the weekend papers, a good book or your favourite programme on TV. A quality fitted kitchen, is well equipped to a very high standard with two large Smeg fridges, a range cooker with five ring gas hob and electric and gas double ovens.

Complete with a quality inventory, dishwasher and microwave the kitchen offers all you could need during your stay.

Off the kitchen is the utility room with washing machine and tumble drier. Wynford is presented with a choice of six comfortable bedrooms.

The first, on the ground floor, is presented with kingsize bed and complemented by a ensuite shower room with walk in shower, basin and WC.

Stairs lead to the first floor where a long landing links four further bedrooms to choose from.

The first, on the corner of the cottage and benefitting from dual aspect views and glimpses of Lake Windermere, is a super-king size bedroom and is complemented by an ensuite shower room with walk in shower, basin and WC.

The second room is presented either as a super-king size or twin bedded room (please specify your preference when booking) with a family bathroom(bath and shower) across the landing.

The third room is presented with a welcoming double bed and offers an en-suite shower room with walk in shower, basin and WC.

The final bedroom on the first floor has a super-king sized bed and is complemented, by an ensuite room with bath/shower, WC and basin. A final staircase leads to the second floor master bedroom suite which is set in the eves of the house and as such offers restricted headroom in places.

A welcoming super-king sized bedroom is complemented by a dressing room and a luxurious en-suite bathroom with double ended feature bath, basin and WC. Back outside, there are two patios to choose from; to the front a large dining patio ideal for alfresco dinners on a summers evening, and outside the lounge a second south west facing patio to catch the summer sun and is a lovely spot to relax with a G & T, glass of fizz or a morning coffee and beyond is a sloping lawned garden with planted borders with mature shrubs and trees. Parking is available for up to six cars.

Mountain bikes, canoes and outdoor gear can be securely stored in the garage (where you will also find the freezer). The owners respectfully point out that the road to Wynford is very narrow and as such extra care is required when driving to the cottage.

It is also the case that due to the narrow lane supermarket delivery vans cannot deliver to the house and so it is recommended that if you need shopping from a supermarket you visit the popular Booths supermarket, ten minutes by car, in Windermere where you will be able to buy all you could need.
