The spacious sitting room is perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, complete with a woodburning stove for cooler evenings and a Smart TV for entertainment. On the ground floor, you’ll find a comfortable king bedroom with its own en-suite, featuring a walk-in shower and heated towel rail for added convenience. Upstairs, the accommodation continues with another en-suite double, a further king room, and a twin – offering flexible sleeping arrangements for all guests. The family bathroom is a calming space, fitted with a freestanding bath, handheld shower, basin, and WC. At the heart of the home is the well-equipped kitchen/diner, ideal for preparing and enjoying home-cooked meals together around the generous dining table. Wonderful place to stay.
We really loved Deer How Farm. The views are beautiful. There is wonderful walking and steamer trips and messing about in the lake right on the doorstep. The accommodation was comfy (great beds). The only thing I would say as a negative is the pots and pans and cooker are inadequate for a party of 8. To cook even a simple meal of pasta and bolognese sauce required two saucepans for the sauce and two for the pasta. These pans are only suitable for two-three people!!
Very nice, spacious and well appointed property with great views over Place Fell.
Nicely furnished, good quality fittings and furniture, comfy sofas and beds (except the two single beds were too soft). Bedding was comfortable but ground floor bedding was 100% polyester so this made it hard to sleep due to temperature regulation issues. The kitchen was well equipped included a very large slow cooker. The oven is only a single oven, somewhat limiting, one shelf/tray slipped to one side and anything rested on the oven door when opened flat slid towards the user. The EV charger was a brilliant addition, thank you, it made a great difference. The issue with the smoke detector battery was dealt with within the day.Lighting in lounge area poor - difficult to read books / papers when sitting on sofas. The owners might think about getting a larger fridge. There were only four of us and we ran out of room (Always a difficult call for holiday property owners as many tenants just won’t cook at all).
Wonderful location, lots of room.
One of the joys of paying (quite a bit) to stay somewhere, is lovely, ironed bed linen. It was not ironed & consequently felt rough & uncomfortable. Also fell down on - no spare bags for rubbish bin: dishwasher didn’t always get things clean & some cutlery/crockery in cupboards was dirty, as was the microwave oven: a starter pack (maybe some milk & perhaps a couple of pods for the Nespresso machine would have been a nice touch. We arrrived around 10pm, then had to search for the cot, then put it up (we were unfamiliar with the type), having requested one it would have been good if it was out & up. Also, arriving in the dark the property was hard to find, the house sign has fallen down. In the description it mentions ‘games on the lawn’, we were unable to find the games or the lawn!
