Head up the stairs to the first floor and find a fully-equipped kitchen and dining room, perfect for creating delicious meals, before tucking in over a cold glass of bubbly.
On this floor, there is also a beautifully-decorated sitting room, complete with a Smart TV and woodburning stove, where you can unwind in the evenings with a glass of wine after a day of walking in the fells.
An additional snug provides a tranquil spot to get lost in a good book or simply admire the magnificent views from the picture window.
Venture out to the enclosed rear garden, perfect for alfresco dining or simply soaking up the sun’s rays amongst scenic surroundings.
When relaxation and sleep call, indulge in a long soak or take a revitalising shower in the sleek family bathroom before completing your evening routine.
Along the hallway, discover three charming bedrooms, all comprising of a super-king-size beds, where one of these beds can be made into twin beds (please request at time of booking), whilst a small double and twin (can be made into a super-king upon request) reside on the second floor, catering for all kinds of sleeping arrangements.
In the morning, keen walkers can explore the nearby fells, uncovering the hidden beauty of the Lake District National Park, whilst those who prefer to take to the water can enjoy a boat trip from nearby Pooley Bridge to explore the stunning views of Ullswater.
Hike to the top of Orrest Head for panoramic views of Lake Windermere and the surrounding countryside or explore the charming town of Bowness-on-Windermere, home to an abundance of shops, cafes, and The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.
Alternatively, embark on a drive to Penrith for an afternoon of culture and art, or perhaps learn about the rich history of the area with a visit to Penrith Castle, Lowther Castle and Gardens or Reghed discovery centre.

We had a lovely stay at Grey Walls Cottage.
The location was absolutely perfect, with so many beautiful walks right from the doorstep, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. The house itself is very well equipped and comfortable, with lovely, comfortable beds which made for a great night’s sleep. One of the highlights was the breathtaking view — sitting with a coffee in the morning and taking it all in was just wonderful. There are a few things that we feel could be improved. Unfortunately, the garden lets the property down as it doesn’t seem to be particularly well maintained. There are lots of loose slabs, so you need to be careful and watch where you are stepping. The garden also isn’t secure for dogs, which was an issue for us as we have an escape artist! A parasol or garden umbrella would also have been appreciated, as it made it difficult to fully enjoy the garden on sunny days. We would also have appreciated a few additional essentials, particularly more than two toilet rolls when staying with a larger group, as well as a cloth and sponge for the kitchen. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and loved the location, views and comfort of the cottage. With a little more attention to the garden and a few additional provisions, it would be an even better experience.
This was a lovely holiday home for 6 adults and 3 children.
Well appointed with everything you could wish for. The living room and 'snug' were great for time away from the children. The views were stunning from the picture windows. There were plenty of walks just outside the door of the property. The garden was a childs paradise and used by all our party, however care was needed as paving slabs were lose and on the point of being dangerous when wet. This didn't spoil our enjoyment, though, of the garden or house and we would return.
This was our second time staying at Greywalls , it’s a wonderful and characteristic property , with great views.
Great entertainment space with the big table in the dining room, the calmness of the conservatory or just relaxing with the fire burning on the lounge area.
