River Cottage

A lovely clean,comfortable cottage,everything and more,the garden river and conservatory topped if for us the parking is a bonus too,highly recommend,great for our dog too as could leave her in the garden while i sat admiring the river and heron from conservatory as weather not great

River Cottage is very well equipped and quite spacious.

We were able to sit outside most of the time with a nice outlook onto the river alongside an attractive stone bridge. The only drawback is the traffic noise but we were well aware of this in advance. Parking requires a little care. The cottage is certainly spacious on the ground floor with a reasonably sizeable bedroom upstairs. Everything is provided and available for guests to use, the utility room in an outbuilding was an added bonus.

We were return visitors to this wonderful area and cannot praise the cottage or location highly enough.

Another fabulous week and topped off by incredible weather. Ideal location for lakes Ambleside etc and plenty of local walks. Again enjoyed so much and thanks to the owners for standard of accommodation Already re booked for next year David Jeanette and Harley the labradoodle Scotland.

The accommodation was everything we had hoped for.

It was very comfortable and well presented.

We have stayed in many properties over the years but River Cottage would be in our top four From the moment we walked in we knew we were going to love it the garden is lovely and we had brilliant weather so it was perfect River Cottage has the most comfortable bed !

River cottage is a beautiful home in a fab location.

The house is fantastically equipped with everything you will need for your stay. Really enjoyed sitting in the garden with the beautiful view of the river. The traffic over the bridge is constant but you soon get used to it.

River cottage was more than excellent the garden and cottage where spot on , the only complaint I had was the noise from the traffic going over the bridge and through the village.

Everything else was excellent

Beautiful cottage in lovely surroundings, ideal for exploring the surrounding areas.

Cottage itself was lovely & comfortable with everything you needed. The conservatory was brilliant, we spent all of our time in there enjoying a relaxing drink watching the river after being out all day - no need for a TV. The only suggestion we would make, would be a small fence at the bottom of the garden - the garden is beautiful, secluded and fully enclosed on three sides but we have a very inquisitive Jack Russell who would’ve explored the river if we had let him. Pooley Bridge, Appleby & Glenridding are a must to visit, so picturesque. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely little cottage, it had virtually everything you could possibly need, even mini binoculars supplied!

A superb cottage, very clean and comfortable as well as excellently furnished and presented.

River cottage is one of our favourites now and we would love to go back. There wasn’t anything we needed during our stay that we couldn’t find. A truly wonderful stay, so much so we really didn’t want to leave after 10 nights. Fully recommend The Beehive pub for fantastic food and a lovely warm welcome, only 5 minute walk too. So many lovely places to visit out and about.

Brilliant location, very clean, loved the garden and the river.

Just sitting with a glass of wine perfect. Easy check in and out. We would vist again, loved Pooley Bridge.

We had a fantastic break at this beautiful cottage alongside our dog Harley.

Idealy situated for visiting the lake district and surrounding area.Cottage itself was ideal for us with the view over the river from the garden a dream We enjoyed the break and the cottage so much we have already re booked for next year. Very comfortable, modern features & a super conservatory , a home from home. A little gem ideally located to explore beautiful Cubria with Ullswater a 10 minute drive away.

Beautiful cottage ,would certainly return, traffic was a small problem but didn’t affect our holiday, great base for visiting all the lakes

The garden overlooking the river was in a beautiful setting ,so nice to just sit and watch the river. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Lovely comfortable well furnished cottage.

The river setting is wonderful. Had a great week exploring the lakes hiking walking. Would have 5 stars but sadly the road noise was a tad irritating. The M6 north bound was shut for 2 nights with 40 ton lorries passing every 30 seconds throughout the night. Overall would recommend to family and friends

Beautiful cottage by the river.

Well equipped and comfortable. The only negative was that it is right next to the bridge, which see some heavy traffic during the day. But overall, a fantastic place to stay.

We were blown away with this lovely little cottage when we arrived.

It did not disappoint at all. The bed was really comfortable, the kitchen was so well equipped. We wanted for nothing during our stay as the cottage had everything we needed. The garden with the river was the highlight of our stay

Very well equipped with everything you would/will need. The only negative is the road noise especially if like us you are a light sleeper. Two nice pubs in the village only 5 minute walk away.

Probably the best equipped cottage that we've ever had and we've had a lot.

The bed was amazing and kitchen had everything. The British weather however was a very different story

Great attention to detail and a lot of effort and attention to detail taken to making the property welcoming.

W-ifi sockets by the beds. The owners left lovely fresh flowers. Fantastic location fantastic.

Beautiful cottage with everything you need,clean and comfortable with a great conservatory and garden ,the river running along the the bottom of the garden is really enjoyable to just sit and relax ,penrith is a 10 minute walk away with lots of shops and eating places ,there is also a train station there ,best cottage we have stayed in .

River cottage was fabulous very clean and comfortable the garden was great lovely view over the river got some great photos.

Kitchen was very well equiped with everything you need. Would recommend to family and friends.
