“Lovely stay in a great location to enjoy the lakes.”

The property is one of three joined chalet style buildings, with multiple others around the large green lawn . It never felt busy or crowded and plenty of parking. Highlight was the walk to Windermere down a private path to a jetty where you could just sit, launch paddle boards, swim or as I did, fish. A perfect way to end a long day of exploring. Property was well furnished, with everything you'd need, wifi was fast, a bit more storage space in the kitchen would have helped a little for self catering but not a big issue. On arrival there was a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge, although a pint of milk would have helped us out more tbh. You can walk to Windermere high street in about 10-15 mins, it is uphill though on the way but you are in the lakes so to be expected. Driving takes you easily to some of the most beautiful nearby villages. We went to Ambleside, Bourton, Conniston and Grasmere. For us Grasmere was our favourite, a beautiful quiet lake in stunning surrounds and home to Wordsworth, and you can see why he was so inspired. So in summary, great owner who sent a very comprehensive welcome pack and property is as described and a perfect base. We've already recommended to friends and would stay here again for sure. We loved the lakes and will be back soon.
