“Valley View is a lovely place, it has the potential to be great.”

The house was a great place for our large family get away. It could do with some upgrading. The furniture was a bit grubby with a lot of marks a stains on the sofas and chairs. The hot tub is a lovely touch however the few family members who used it, only stayed in for 5 minutes as they said the water was smelly and felt a bit grubby, they had to get out and shower. Overall we had a lovely stay, but it just feels like a bit of TLC is needed especially given the price we paid.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Feedback from guests is really important as it means that we can continue to improve our properties. I have passed your comments to the cleaning team regarding the sofas and chairs. The cutlery draw as you'll now know is in the top slim draw on the island in the kitchen and this information is in the guests manual which was emailed to you prior to your visit and also in the guest manual at the property so sorry if you missed that. The hot tub is emptied, cleaned, re-filled and treated before any guest arrival so I am surprised to here that you felt you couldn't use it and I wish you had called the out of hours team as they would have been able to help. I am please to hear that you had a lovely stay and once again thanks for the feedback. Kindest Regards Julie Property Owner

About the location

DALTON-IN-FURNESS

Ulverston 5 miles.

The ancient town of Dalton-in-Furness lies in a narrow valley on that part of the Furness Peninsula which extends deep into Morecambe Bay. Once the leading town of Furness, Dalton has a good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs. The architecture of the town includes some interesting buildings in and around the market place, as well as an elegant Victorian drinking fountain, the market cross and slabs of stone used for fish drying in the 19th century. The 14th-century pele tower, known as Dalton Castle, was originally a place of refuge for the monks of nearby Furness Abbey, an impressive sandstone ruin nestling in a peaceful wooded valley. Within easy reach of the town are the South Lakes Wild Animal Park, the world's only Laurel and Hardy museum at Ulverston and the Haventhwaite Steam Railway which runs to Lakeside, where you can board a steam train for Bowness or Ambleside. Just north of Dalton-in-Furness is the stunning Duddon Estuary and Duddon Valley, with Cartmel, Holker Hall and Grizedale Forest within easy reach. Situated on the edge of the Lake District National Park, and surrounded by mountains and beaches, this area is ideal for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.
