“Grasmere is a quaint village, easy to walk around and pretty flat which is really handy if you’ve spent several hours trekking in the hills.”
It’s an ideal location for walks around the area, and further afield. There are plenty of shops and cafes within a short distance.
‘The Gallery’ is a lovely property, situated above Lakes Art Gallery, which is well worth a visit.
The car park space is sufficient for an average sized car. If you reverse up to quite close to the door it’s not a problem at all, and it is quite handy if you want to transfer things from the boot straight into the property without getting wet! (It does rain ‘occasionally’ in The Lakes).
Regarding the actual property, it ticks all the boxes really.
The bathroom is lovely, and the shower must be one of the best I’ve ever used. There’s good water pressure, it’s large and designed in such a way that water doesn’t end up on the bathroom floor. This isn’t always the case.
Due to the sloping roof, you may need to walk around with care in certain areas if you are tall. However, I’m 6’4” and didn’t bang my head once, which was a lovely surprise!
There were some lovely touches in the property, including a welcome gift that was there to greet me upon my arrival! (you’ll have to stay there to find out what it was!). The property is well kitted out with everything one would need. I can’t think of anything it lacked for my stay.
The storage heaters are ‘interesting’, and do what storage heaters do, but it wasn’t a problem. I was there in Winter, and it was warm enough at all times.
The only very minor ‘niggle’ was a very slow running cold tap in the kitchen, but I’m sure that would have been rectified for the next guest.
I enjoyed my stay in February so much, I booked for next year shortly after returning home.
Highly recommended! Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind feedback.
We are so pleased to read that you had an enjoyable stay, and the welcome gift.
We look forward to welcoming you back next year.
