The property

This reverse-level cottage is situated in the vibrant village of Staveley on the edge of the Lake District National Park, providing a perfect base for a family holiday with excellent village amenities on the doorstep.

As you step inside there are two bedrooms, a cloakroom and a wet room on the groundfloor with stairs leading to an open plan living area, a twin bedroom and a shower room.

From the living area there are views down the village street to the fells beyond.

Outside, there is a front enclosed courtyard and furniture where you can sit back and relax before heading out to explore this pretty corner of Cumbria.

From the cottage you can easily explore the beautiful Kentmere valley both on foot or bicycle with routes including the Kentmere Horseshoe.

The climb up Reston Scar, although steep, will reward you with beautiful views across the South Lakes.

Just a stone’s throw away is Staveley Mill Yard which has a brewery, bicycle shop, a cookery school, artisan bakers and a café.

There is also an excellent village pub – so it is possible you may arrive here and never move your car as everything is literally on hand.

A visit to Lake Windermere is a must and this beautiful lake is just 5 miles away.

From Bowness-on-Windermere you can hop on board the Windermere Steamer and cruise up the lake to the popular Lakeland town of Ambleside at the head of the lake or down to Lakeside and visit the Aquarian of the Lakes.

This lovely holiday cottage makes a great base for a super, family holiday.

The thriving Lakeland village of Staveley is situated on the eastern fringes of the Lake District National Park and offers superb access to the whole region. The beautiful Kentmere Valley is just a short walk away and with the River Kent tumbling its way through the valley to Staveley, it is very popular with mountain bikers and walkers alike. Staveley Mill Yard is a former wood turning mill at the heart of the village, which is now a thriving tourist attraction with cycle hire and outdoor shops, artisan bakery, brewery and the renowned Wilf's Cafe. This complements the excellent range of amenities in the village, which include a variety of shops, two village pubs, craft shops, a children's playground, a regular bus service and a railway station. Close by, the bustling towns of Kendal, Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including a ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park.
