Wonderful stay in a beautiful building.

Great to return here after a busy day out. Approaching up the driveway gave you a feeling of returning to somewhere special. Clean spacious two bedroomed apartment on the first floor. Stayed in a lot of self catering accomadation over the years but this is probably the best.

Fabulous stay for two weeks in the Elizabeth suite, warm, quiet excellent facilities and a great place to visit so many places!

The Stone Cross Mansion is a stunningly renovated mansion.

The apartment was spacious, clean, well stocked and just beautiful. There is also lots of fun things to do on the grounds.

We found the shower / bath water not hot enough for us .

No sieve in the kitchen .Other than that perfect .

Spectacular building, well maintained , immaculate gardens .

The apartment was spacious and well equipped, great views from all windows . Managers very helpful over a few minor problems . Only problem for me was the beds very very hard after a day walking can I suggest mattress toppers ? We stay in 5 star accommodation all over and everyone has them . Thank you for the welcome pack we received milk tea coffee biscuits and sweets . We would highly recommend your establishment

We had a lovely week in excellent accommodation with lovely staff. It was nice to be able to walk into the town and the shops along the tree lined drive. We will definitely return!

Excellent location, close to M&S / Aldi, far enough in from the A590 that I couldn’t hear the traffic at all.

Beautiful modern restoration of an old Victorian property, with high ceilings spacious rooms and fab facilities & grounds. Very comfortable & secure. Some previous reviews have commented on the mattress being too soft but that wasn’t how it felt to me. I didn’t do the walk into the town centre but saw a mention somewhere of ‘a cut through route’ for walkers - maybe a sign or direction for this would be useful for future guests? Kitchen was great, the Welcome Pack and milk in the fridge were hugely appreciated. I couldn’t locate a sieve or similar for draining things … other than those very minor things this was a 10/10 place to stay in Ulverston, top notch.

Beautiful property in quiet grounds with private parking.

It’s close to M&S and Aldi for supplies and just a short stroll from the centre of Ulverston. I would be happy to stay there again.

This place was so good that I couldn't bear to recommend it to anyone.

I was also sad to leave. If I return to the Lake District I would book this room again. Simple and clean. Everything you need. I read reviews saying the mattress was uncomfortable but I think this is exactly what I like.

Absolutely beautiful place, everything you could want is a small walk away

The building and property were beautiful,the only problem we had was with the TV we found it a bit difficult to use but we are not very technical.

The apartment was very welcoming to come back to after exploring the surrounding areas,it was a gem of a find that my daughter found and booked for us,we would definitely recommend and book again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

This is our 3rd visit to Stone Cross Mansion, we love everything about it.

We have stayed in 3 of the suites & they are all stunning. Beautiful grounds especially with lots of games on the lawns during the Summer. Ulverston 5 minute walk away, lovely small-town, lots of bars & restaurants. If you want to cater for yourselves M&S & Aldi at bottom of drive just a few minutes walk. Thank you Mike & Kevin, nothing is too much trouble. once again always good to see you. All your staff extremely friendly & helpful. We'll be back .

Wonderful apartment at a wonderful Manor House.

It's our second stay and we will be back. It would be a perfect score if the beds were a little softer, but that is being picky!

The apartment was superb, well equipped.

Everything was really lovely in the apartment, However the beds were really uncomfortable.

In our entire stay we really didn't look forward to going to bed due to the mattress. We literally couldn't sleep due to the mattress. I understand that you have to find a happy medium to suit all your guests , but this was like a futon .not good . Jason

Extremely good throughout and great service.

Only one improvement suggested. As you leave the door to the entrance, there is a small step down, which a lady (not in my party) fell up : down twice. For the elderly or poorly sighted the step can appear invisible. Just some yellow/black markings or similar might just prevent this accident reoccurring.

Stone Cross is absolutely stunning, the Elizabeth apartment beautifully finished, and the private setting tranquil.

When the weather was unfavourable it was a pleasure to remain at the property. A hugely enjoyable week spent travelling around the Lakes, but equally so, the time spent relaxing in the apartment. Six stars out of five.

This place is a beautiful find, stunning location with everything you could possibly need for a uk stay, the apartment is finished to a perfect standard, the little touches are lovely.

Close to all amenities, such a fabulous few days away.

We enjoyed the overall spaciousness and the high standard of furnishing, decoration and equipment.

The only minor negative was the wi-fi dropping out for a while and a huge positive was how well the sense of Stonecross as a grand house had been retained. The building itself, particularly the entrance and staircase, make it an exceptional place to stay.

Had a lovely peaceful stay, good location for amenities,shame about noise of children running around upstairs above, the owners were very helpful, big thank you to Mike, Jerry, Louise for all of their help and assistance.
