“Buildings works 3 metres from front door, from 07.”

45 in the morning until after 4pm everyday.

45 in the morning until after 4pm everyday. Cottage very tired carpet tread bare and smells. Shower seal mouldy very unhygenic and unsightly. Back bedroom gutters leaking kept us a awake for most of the night. Front door leads directly on to road with no warning of cars passing. Garden furniture absolutely discussing if weather would of been nice we would unable to sit on the chairs or use the table. We not stay in this cottage ever again

Boxwood Cottage is a superb contemporary Lakeland Cottage set in the pretty conservation village of Troutbeck, renowned for its numerous listed buildings and vernacular architecture and the strong and vibrant village community with a village shop and excellent local pub and with beautiful views across the valley to the fells beyond, walks direct from the door and Lake Windermere just a short drive away. Finished to a high standard the property offers a great bolt hole to which to escape and relax. Originally part of a larger Victorian property this cottage has been tastefully refurbished to a high standard. The cottage offers a spacious and social living space and offers a great space to spend time with friends. The living area affords a breath taking view across the Troutbeck Valley to Applethwaite Common and the eastern fells. The matching bedrooms, with vaulted ceilings provide a cosy and comfortable retreat at the end of the day. Outside there is a lovely cottage garden close by, with patio furniture, which is just a short walk away. Turn right at the front door and find it adjacent to the driveway to Thyme Out (the neighbouring property). It is positioned so you can enjoy the ever-changing picture postcard view no matter what time of day or time of year. Look for the slate sign to indicate the seating area. == Accommodation in detail A private parking space is adjacent to the pretty garden area with patio furniture and stunning views across the valley is available just a minutes' walk from the front door. On entering the cottage you are greeted by the large open plan living space with oak floors throughout. The kitchen is well equipped and offers all you may need. The cosy lounge, area is spacious with a panoramic view out across the Troutbeck Valley and the large sofa offers a great place to relax. Upstairs, the king size master bedroom, which offers views across the valley and a contemporary shower room complete with walk-in shower, basin and WC. The second bedroom, offers a comfortable double bed and compliments the master bedroom. A modern family bathroom includes a bath with shower over, basin and WC. Location A romantic cottage in the Troutbeck Valley provides a Lake District holiday experience like no other. Still only a short drive from shops and restaurants in Windermere village, Lake Windermere itself and the vibrant lake shore communities of Bowness and Ambleside, the Troutbeck Valley is a peaceful haven away from the rush. Spectacular Lakeland fells surround this lush valley; scattered with historic Lakeland houses and pretty woodlands, and blessed with the Mortal Man in Troutbeck village renowned for their excellent food, Cumbrian produce and cosy fireside ambience. Perfect for a special occasion. There are endless opportunities for romantic Lake District walks from your doorstep. Taking the car over Kirkstone Pass towards Ullswater, you'll pass Brothers Water - one of our favourite spots for a leisurely Sunday stroll. For exploring further afield, despite the blissfully secluded feel of the Troutbeck Valley, you're never too far from the main linking roads throughout the Lake District.

About the location

Windermere 3 miles; Ambleside 4 miles.

The small Lakeland village of Troutbeck can be found between its more famous neighbours Windermere and Ambleside, close by the Kirkstone Pass. A mixture of houses, cottages and farms, the village is scattered along a narrow lane bordered by a drystone wall. Many of these buildings date back to the 17th Century with features such as mullioned windows and heavy cylindrical chimneys and the northern end boasts its own 17th century inn. Close by, the bustling towns of Windermere and Ambleside are popular with visitors, providing a range of amenities to suit all tastes. Lake Windermere offers boat trips, including the lakeside ferry to the Lakeside Aquarium and Grizedale Forest Park. The ‘Windermere Steamboat Museum’ displays a fascinating collection of boats whilst children will enjoy the ‘World of Beatrix Potter’ in Bowness, where technology brings her characters to life. Within easy reach of destinations such as Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains, Troutbeck is ideally situated for exploring all that the region has to offer.

Please note: Logs aren't provided for the woodburner, supplies are located at Troutbeck Petrol Station approx 2 miles from the cottage.
We are happy to accept a well behaved pet, however if any damage is caused there may be additional cleaning charges which will be taken from the good housekeeping bond
