    The property is beautifully situated right at the entrance to Great Asby village and is absolutely stunning. It has been renovated to a high standard, offering a perfect blend of modern luxury and traditional character. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Ingrid, who kindly showed us around the house.     The property is beautifully situated right at the entrance to Great Asby village and is absolutely stunning. It has been renovated to a high standard, offering a perfect blend of modern luxury and traditional character. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Ingrid, who kindly showed us around the house. She had also thoughtfully left us essentials like milk, bread, and butter, which was a wonderful touch after our long journey from London. The property itself is beautifully designed and exceptionally spacious that our two young children spent the whole time happily running around. Every room is bright and flooded with ample natural light, and the underfloor heating throughout the kitchen and walkways made the place feel incredibly cozy. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, the beds were large and comfortable, and we enjoyed the lovely garden. Logistically, the place is fantastic. It features ample private parking, allowing you to park your car right outside the front door, which made unloading a breeze. Location-wise, it served as the perfect, idyllic base for us to explore both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. As a bonus, there is a lovely local pub just a two minute walk away. You can see it through the porch window, but because there is a large field separating it from the house, you can't hear a thing. While we didn't visit, it looked lovely with people enjoying drinks outside on a sunny day. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it!

This recently renovated barn conversion is adjacent to the owner’s 17th century, Grade II listed Georgian home.

Ashtree Barn is a beautiful cottage featuring luxury fixtures whilst keeping a classic farm-style charm and offering a perfect base for people looking for a family-friendly retreat.

Enter the delightful hallway and feel the underfloor heating on the stone flagged flooring, featured throughout most of the ground floor.

Here you'll find a lovely light filled area with an indoor window into the kitchen/diner area, uniquely designed with elements of traditional stone walling, sloped beam ceilings and gorgeous creme decor, and equipped with all the essentials needed for a self-catered stay.

A patio door takes you out to the rear garden area, where you can enjoy an afternoon picnic on the patio whilst overlooking the lush green fields.

The spacious sitting room is found by the entrance hall, just a few steps down, adorned with a full height feature window, log burning stove and overlooked by a gorgeous mezzanine seating area above.

The ground floor also houses a family bedroom, with a king-size and a single bed, plus a wet-room.

Upstairs, you will find a king-size bedroom with its own en-suite and your choice of bath and shower, so whether you want a relaxing soak or a quick shower to start the day, the choice is yours.

Ashtree Barn is a unique cottage, perfect for a family break to explore the wonders of the Lakes and Dales.

The historic town of Appleby-in-Westmorland lies in a loop of the River Eden and is overlooked by the North Pennines, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the Lake District Fells showing on the western horizon. Set at the heart of the lush Eden Valley and steeped in history, this is one of the loveliest towns in the north of England and was originally the county town of Westmorland. Appleby is nestled between the Lakes and Yorkshire Dales, so guests can enjoy the contrasting scenery of these two National Parks, plus numerous walking and cycling opportunities as well as the fantastic leisure centre in the town. Appleby has a wonderful selection of quality independent shops, cafes and delicatessens selling locally produced food and crafts.
