“Spacious for the 8 of us plus our dog.”

Excellent location. The main issue we had was that we got given the wrong key code for the house. Imagine travelling over 5 hours with 2 elderly relatives and a 12 year old lab to find you can't get in and worry you have been scammed. Even worse when Skye Cottages had given us 2 numbers to try, one of which no one answered and the other the person was so incredibly rude, hanging up on me twice saying I was bothering him and it wasn't his issue (so how come we were given his number in the first ...

Excellent location. The main issue we had was that we got given the wrong key code for the house. Imagine travelling over 5 hours with 2 elderly relatives and a 12 year old lab to find you can't get in and worry you have been scammed. Even worse when Skye Cottages had given us 2 numbers to try, one of which no one answered and the other the person was so incredibly rude, hanging up on me twice saying I was bothering him and it wasn't his issue (so how come we were given his number in the first place) Eventually after 40 minutes of pure panic the home owner rang back and casually said oh we had the wrong key code. No call or check in after to see if we were OK, or had actually managed to get in. We were also told the washing machine was broken, one day before we were due to travel. I understand things happen but didn't plan on spending one of my days having to hang around at the laundrette waiting for my clothes. Also said we could be re embursed for that but wasn't told how? 3 of the beds also had stained / dirty sheets. Parking was ok, IF you managed to get a space in front of the property. 2 of our relatives had mobility issues so it was alot of back and forth having to drop them and drive to the parking place if no spaces were available. I would 100% go back to the Lake District, but I unfortunately would not stay at this accommodation again.

I've now had a chance to look into this unfortunate situation, having only just been made aware of it. I have a copy of the document sent to you by Sykes and it contains the correct key code so I'm surprised that there was a problem with the key box.I believe Sykes has contacted you. They gave you a wrong number in the contact section and you ended up speaking with somebody who is not connected to the property. You didn't speak with me and I would never have been rude to a guest. Sadly we had problems with the washing machine and it was out of action for a short time but is now working. As soon as I knew it wasn't going to be fixed in time I made the offer to reimburse any laundry costs. I'm happy you have taken me up on my offer. If you had called the number in the property, the sheets would have been changed immediately. I'm sorry you had all these problems and I understand it spoilt your holiday. It's unfortunate because everything could have turned out so differently. You were very unlucky. Property Owner
