“We have just got home from a week at this lovely property in Windermere.”

On arrival it was a bit of a surprise to find it was within a large development of houses, we hadn't realised that it was going to be so overlooked. The house itself was very nice, spacious kitchen, lounge and bedroom with a lovely superking bed with a very expensive and comfy mattress! The shower was really lovely and big, although we had to get into it sideways as the doorway is very small and we're not overly large people! No shower gel in the dispenser on the wall but not a problem as we had taken our own. Also no handsoap in the dispenser. The front windows were huge and didn't have blinds so to have any privacy we had to keep the downstairs curtains closed as people could look in and see us eating and or watching tv as it is light until 10pm. Probably not a ideal place if your dog is reactive dog. The kitchen was well equipped and had almost everything we needed but we couldn't find a bread knife anywhere so we had to go and buy one from the Lakeland shop in town. The garden was very nice, a decent size and perfectly secure for our 2 small dogs, we couldn't make use of it sadly due to the wet weather. The only issue we found was a loose paving slab that makes one of the steps wobble, second to the top one so that could do with being secured as it even wobbled with out 4kg dog walking on it. Parking was no problem as the property has a good sized driveway. Over all though, we thought it a lovely property and we would be happy to stay again. Thank you for a great stay.

Delightfully presented with an enclosed rear garden, woodburning stove and off-road parking, Ananda House is a wonderful retreat for a family and their pet looking to spend some time in the Lakelands.

After parking up directly outside, head through the door into the lounge, where you can kick back beside the woodburner and choose a film from the Smart TV. Allow the designated chef to become acquainted in the kitchen, making use of the electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and even a washer/dryer, perfect for keeping on top of your laundry.

Continue outside to the rear garden, where you can bask in the evening sun with a favourite tipple in hand, set in an enclosed space so your furry friend can safely explore.

Whisk away upstairs and make yourself comfortable in the bedrooms, complete with a super-king-size with Smart TV, a double and a 4’ 3” double, each neutrally presented.

Completing the interior is the shower room, ideal for freshening up before heading out the door.

Explore Windermere high street with its range of independent shops selling local produce, traditional butchers, restaurants and pubs, offering something for everyone.

Head to National Trust's Wray Castle, take a walk through Brockhole on Windermere, or learn about the area's rich history at the Lake District Visitor Centre.

Five miles away lies Ambleside, an idyllic town home to the Ambleside Roman Fort, a must-see for keen historians, whilst there is also the Bridge House and the beautiful Stock Ghyll Force worth adding to the itinerary.
