    “What a gem.”

    Great accommodation and very well equipped. Lovely touch with welcome pack too. And as the weather was so brilliant we managed to eat at the very large table outside. Although the garden is secure for dogs there was one part where he managed to jump off the wall into next door. But we easily managed to barricade it to stop it happening again. Owners brilliant too as kept in touch by text and we were able to access the property earlier than expected. All in all a great weekend and would ...

The property

The property sleeps six people and has been lovingly designed, whilst also allowing pets, making it easy for you to bring your canine companions along for the getaway. When you arrive, you will notice that the property has on-street parking as well as free parking in an adjacent car park, making it easy for you to get settled in. Inside, you'll be greeted by one of two fantastic sitting areas, the first being a sitting room with magnificent décor, a burning electric fire, and a Smart TV. The other is a snug located at the back of the property that is ideal for the youngsters due to its array of seating and 65" Smart TV! When you're hungry, proceed to the kitchen, which has sleek cabinetry and integrated equipment, after a delectable dinner has been prepared, take it over to the stylishly decorated dining room, where a table seating six can be found, along with a toasty electric fire. When the sun goes down, head to the first floor to find two of the house's three magnificent bedrooms, one of which is a king-size with a TV and an en-suite shower room, and the other a double with an en-suite shower room. Continue upstairs to discover another king-size bed, featuring zip/linked beds, a TV, a handy sink, and an en-suite shower room. Behind the house is a pleasant yard where you can sit out with a steaming cup of tea in the mornings! Spend the day exploring the attractions of The World of Beatrix Potter and the Windermere Jetty Museum; or if the outdoors is more your thing, you can venture on walks along Queen Adelaide's Hill and Orrest Head Viewpoint, both of which showcase the best of Windermere's vistas. Why not spend the day on Lake Windermere, where Miller Ground and Hodge Howe provide wonderful watersports options, and a ferry from Bowness-on-Windermere allows you to cruise over the water to the attractions of Far Sawrey. Visit Ambleside, a town steeped in history, which you can discover at the Ambleside Roman Fort, before exploring the beautiful Stagshaw Gardens or trekking to Stock Ghyll Force or Wansfell Pike. There's so much more to explore in the surrounding region, from the wonders of Rydal to the lively town of Kendal; you'll never be bored! A blissful break awaits at Beckmead.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both vibrant, fun-filled places set within the splendid scenery of the Lake District. Both towns provide a range of amenities, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes whilst Ambleside offers the additional attraction of a boat ride to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium and Beatrix Potter's 'Hill Top House' at Sawrey. Grizedale Forest Park is within easy driving distance and is home to a range of activities including many good walks, mountain biking and the 'Go Ape' adventure park. The region also boasts many National Trust properties as well as a variety of water sports for those who prefer a more adrenaline-fuelled trip. Children will enjoy a trip to the 'World of Beatrix Potter' in Bowness whilst the villages of Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains are all within easy reach.
