Great accommodation.

Owners were easy to contact and helpful. Parking for 1 car on the drive and a permit provided for another other car. We would love to stay again.

Stunning accommodation , we had a fabulous time to celebrate my dad’s 80 th birthday .

What a delightful holiday could not have been better, beautiful cottage which had everything one needed for a lovely stay, especially the down stairs games room for the younger of our group.

Just three minuets away from Windermere main street which had everything one could need ,

Deceptively spacious accommodation.

Suited 7 adults and a child really well. Good location in central Windermere. Very comfortable beds. No issue for us given time of year but small, shared outdoor space so bear that in mind if that’s important to you. 2 parking spaces and a permit which was really helpful. The drive is very tight up to the property. VW Tiguan required careful manoeuvring! Very clean and hosts were really responsive and accommodating. Would definitely return.

Lovely property - very happy with everything

Incredible house in a wonderful location just perfect for going out to eat and explore with great equipment etc in the house when you want to stay in and cook.

The cinema room and games room was great fun and all the bedrooms are excellent, would highly recommend and we will definitely be coming back in the future!

It was amazing.

We all absolutely loved our stay there. The house was extremely well equipped and had everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable and the duvet covers and pillows cases of such lovely quality. We had two little girls with us both under 5 and it was perfect for them too. The games room with dart board was great fun. Great to have a washing machine though we didn't use it but it was there if needed. The only suggestion i would make is the addition of some hooks in the bathrooms. Would just make things easier. And just to mention that unless you drive a fiat 500 there is no way of getting two cars on the drive. However, street parking was never an issue and with the permit to put in the car, it was really no problem at all. We will definitely be returning.

Could do with a coffee machine and a welcome pack would have been good.

Garden could be better maintained but overall had a lovely stay.

Throughout the cottage everything is of a high standard. The cottage is with in walking distance to windermere with local shops and lovely places to eat. Highly recommend this gorgeous home .

We stayed over the Easter weekend and had a fabulous time.

We ended up having to take the dog to the vets which meant we spent more time at the property and local area than planned, so it was great to have everything we needed. The property itself is finished to a high standard with great fixtures and fittings, a NEF double oven certainly isn’t wasted on me! The kitchenwares are fully stocked, we brought some of our own things as we were cooking a full turkey dinner, but we need not have bothered as there was everything from scales, electric whisk and Yorkshire pudding tins! We stayed as a multigenerational family which included young teenagers so the basement cinema room was a hit! We also took advantage of the log fire, which had some fuel, lighters etc already there. The beds are really comfortable, we all commented on how well we slept, lots of storage and space, plenty of of seating in the living area and dining room so it easily swallowed up the 7 of us. Parking was great, we had 2 SUVs so the parking only allowed for 1 vehicle but the added bonus of a parking permit meant that didn’t matter. There was always a place on the street and was never a worry even on a busy weekend like Easter. You got the impression that the owners cared about your stay and really thought about the little things that made the stay even more enjoyable, everything we could have needed was catered for, we would certainly return and have already recommended the property to a friend who is a frequent visitor to the lakes

Beautiful cottage, immaculately presented & in a perfect position.

Ample room for 6 adults, 2 children & a baby. We had three cars and left one on the road with the parking permit supplied, which was ideal. Parking & driveway are quite tight but we got two medium size cars parked ok. We would definitely book again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our celebratory stay with the family at Hazelnut Cottage.

The property is fabulous, has plenty of space, is well equipped, very comfortable and in a great location. There were a few niggles which has influenced the overall rating - the heating in the en-suite bedroom was ineffective (we have mentioned this to the owner direct) and the en-suite shower isn’t particularly powerful. We knew that parking for two cars is restricted but we also found that access into the driveway is quite tight too. The rear shared courtyard area is very small and does need some attention - although this wasn’t an issue as the weather at this time of year isn’t suitable for sitting out anyway! When we first booked the property, we were fairly sure that it was “pet free” which was one of the main drivers for our choosing it, due to pet allergies. We have since noticed that pets are now allowed which could have been a serious issue. As it happens, the property was spotlessly clean and it may well be that there have been no dogs. However, we would not be able to stay again if its status remains the same.

You need to see it in real life to fully appreciate the space and top quality furnishings. Great location. Perfect home from home for our adult family & partners. Seven of us in total and never felt overcrowded, plenty of room to spread out & do your own thing!

Amazing property and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed our week at Hazelnut Cottage!

The rooms were beautiful and the house immaculate. The main bathroom was a real luxury, and all the bedrooms were well thought out with comfortable beds and lovely lighting. The adults particularly enjoyed relaxing in the cosy living room, while the younger members of the party could not get enough of the superb cinema/games room.....a Godsend considering the wet and changeable summer weather! The house is situated within a few minutes walk of the town centre with all it's quaint shops and restaurants, yet has an away-from-it all feel. Also within a comfortable walk/five minute drive to the busier Bowness-on-Windermere and its famous lake. Hazelnut Cottage is a real home-from-home and the owner has thought of everything to make a luxurious and comfortable stay. Would highly recommend this property and we will no doubt be back!

The cinema room in the basement was an added bonus. Slightly tight parking 2 cars so quite often parked second car in the street. Visitors permit is provided. Would highly recommend.

Great location near centre of Windermere , excelllent kitchen with 2 ovens and 6 ring hob so easy to cook for 7 as and when required .

The basement with large screen TV , darts and table football were a big hit, easy to relax in the spacious lounge and comfortable beds after a days walking were much apprecited . On street parking permit in addition to space in the garden was a bonus . Highly recommended

We have just returned from spending a wonderful week at Hazelnut Cottage; all three generations.

The comfort and general ambience is first class and quite clearly the owners have taken great pride and thought in furnishing Hazelnut Cottage. We were so very impressed with the high standard of cleanliness throughout the cottage . The location is ideal and despite being in the centre of such a bustling town there is an air of peace and calm. We look forward to a return visit.

Hazelnut Cottage is wonderful.

Exceptionally clean and spacy with all the facilities within that you would need. A great location close to the town centre but with the quietness associated with the countryside. The beds are great, best sleep had in ages. We had three generations with us and the cottage catered for all. I cannot speak more highly of the place. Host contacted me in advance and made herself available should we have an issues. We didn't, but the fact that I had recieved rhe contact was really appreciated. The sun shining all week was the icing on the cake. A truly lovely location.

Facilities and cleanliness were excellent! The huge TV/games room was a great touch and a highlight of the house. The location was excellent too very close to the town and very central to other towns in the area. We would definitely stay here again!

Everything you need and more. Clean as a whistle, perfect location in the middle of Windermere town, which has everything you need. Only a short walk or bus ride to the lake. Kids were more than happy with the cinema and games room in the basement. We will definatley return

! Great location in windermere. 7 of us stayed and the house is more than big enough, all beautifully decorated and high quality finishes… parking for 2 car was great… Nicola and Chris were great hosts, we will definitely be returning!!

We all had a fabulous time at the cottage, the kids absolutely loved it and the huge bonus was the games room and cinema.

Adults of course loved it too. House is spectacular, so clean, and everything that you could possibly need inside. All the special touches make it so much more homely. We booked with our friends who were over from Australia and the house did not disappoint. Such a fab location too right next to town and the park is only at the end of the road. We would book again without a doubt. Nicola is so accommodating, lovely and happy to help.

It is in a fantastic location and so close to all the local amenities. It is a lovely spacious cottage, beautifully decorated and very clean. The games / tv room was a big hit with the adults and the kids. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Great family holiday

A great cottage in a good location.

It was very comfortable & well equipped with plenty of cutlery.glassware & crockery etc all of which were of good quality. The welcome basket of local cakes etc was a nice touch. There was just one downside. We understood that there was a shared garden space.which wasn’t a problem,but unfortunately we didn’t use it. The reason being that it was very untidy with lots of weeds & dead plants. It really needed some attention to make it into a place where you wanted to sit & have a coffee. Having said that it wouldn’t stop us visiting again.

Absolutely super stay, enabling us to complete a good few Wainwright walks.

The cottage is ideally situated, and we will definitely be coming again. There were 3 small observations - a squidgy for the shower doors would have been good as we like to clean down the shower doors, and also a wash basket so that when the washing machine was unloaded it's easier to dump them in a plastic basket ready to hang, finally a butter knife spreading butter with the cutting knives wasn't the easiest. It really is a splendid home and we all agreed it is home from home. The owners, Nicola and Chris went the extra mile in providing more than the average kitchen utensils and home equipment. Local amenities are great, and the little touches on arrival, like the chocolates and cake were very much appreciated. Thank you for everything we were very sad to leave on Saturday. x

Overall a lovely property within walking distance of town centre.

Very well equipped and very spacious. The basement games area was an added bonus especially as it was very warm and we were able to cool off with our grandson. One minor problem was the shower in the en-suite which was not very powerful but was still ok to use. Overall a very nice accomodation

My family of 8 stayed here for a week.

We loved every minute of being in this house. Brilliant location. Beautiful and well done all the way through. We are all looking forward to returning soon as we can.

We did not want for anything. The kitchen was well kitted, fabulous for a large family like ourselves. Plenty of space to relax, the cinema room was a hit witj all ages. Contact with Nicola and Chris was excellent throughout. I would highly recommend this property.

What an amazing holiday cottage!

Even better than in the photos - often photos make rooms look bigger than they really are - not in this case, spacious lounge, in fact, spacious throughout. Huge utility area with darts board and table footie. Extremely comfortable beds with quality pillows and duvets. Kitchen equipment as good as at home. DVD selection extensive. Christmas decorations tastefully done. Location also perfect for shops, cafes and accessing the fells. The log burner kept us toastie even with the frost and frozen pavements outside. We really hope to return to this amazing property.

Hazelnut Cottage is a tastefully furnished, cosy cottage with everything you need for a luxe getaway in a beautiful part of the world.

The owners have thought of everything and the welcome hamper was a particularly thoughtful touch. We loved our stay there (our second one to date!) and I have no doubt that we'll be visiting again next year.

Hazelnut Cottage is a real home from home.

It is very well equipped and so comfortable. Our four generation family enjoyed our stay. We appreciated the basket of welcome goodies. The cottage is a short walk to Windermere and all the town has to offer.

The beds were extremely comfortable too. We had three generations staying and all loved the cinema room and the football table. A wealth of cafes and restaurants within walking distance and lots of things to do locally. I Would highly recommend this beautiful cottage.

The cottage is lovely, perfect for our extended family .

The kitchen is well equipped and our teenagers loved the cinema room. The beds were all very comfortable and the rooms spacious with plenty of space to store clothes. The parking is really a bit to tight for two cars but you can squeeze them in with some clever reversing, only a couple of inches between cars and between the cars and the wall so not for the faint hearted. There is a parking permit to use for on street parking but rarely any spaces available near the cottage in the evenings. We would recommend Hazelnut Cottage and thank the owners for the warm welcome we received.

Absolutely lovel, well-appointed property in a quiet cul-de-sac within short walking distance of all the amenities in Windermere.

The beds are really comfortable, the kitchen and dining room are spacious and our group of 8 had a great time hiking in the hills for a week. Would definitely recommend this property for a group. There are 2 parking spaces outside the property and a single parking permit for the road

Cottage location was excellent with many amenities within walking distance.

Beds were comfortable and the cottage had everything we needed for our holiday. Attention to detail was excellent and the owners quickly answered any questions we had. Parking was tight for two cars but the owners helpfully provided a parking permit for on street parking which worked well. Excellent Italian restaurant called San Pietro only 2 minutes walk and 3 small supermarkets within easy walking distance. Best self catering accommodation we have found to date.

Key arrangement very easy and property very clean on arrival. Welcome basket much appreciated. House has been renovated to a high standard. Our eldest son loved the LED strip lighting. Basement movie room was nice to have in the evening, no need to take dvds as there are 100s. Kitchen equipment very good. Shops, restaurants and mini supermarkets literally at end of road. Bowness approximately 25 min walk away. Will come again!

This cottage was absolutely perfect!

! We go in about 2 staycations every year and by far this is the best cottage We have stayed in. The cinema and games room was an absolute bonus and kept the kids entertained. Also the quality of the furniture and kitchen equipment was amazing! Which is rare to find, usually you look forward to going back home and using your own stuff but in this case it was the opposite! The cottage looks small from the outside but is massive inside, lots of cool gadgets like changing colour LED lights in the bedrooms and touch screen LED mirrors in the bathroom. Honestly I never like to stay in the same place more than once but I would definitely stay here again! Best staycation I’ve been on!

Great property which was as described with all that we needed for the week away with plenty of room to relax after walking in the Lakes.

Cinema room went down a treat.

This is a beautifully furnished house - the photos just don’t do it justice.

And it’s very deceptive from the front - it’s much more spacious than you might think! If you want quality accommodation, near to village facilities, including eateries, this is the spot for you. We had a lovely break at the end of March - it snowed! - but we were very cosy with the log burner lit, soft lighting and a good film and great food! Clearly, the downstairs cinema was also a great addition - TopGun was definitely the fav film to watch!!

We had a great week in the house.

The house had very recently been renovated and was in excellent condition - the decor was really nice, the furniture was comfy and stylish, and the house was well equipped. Even better than the photos. There was also a thoughtful welcome pack with snacks when on arrival. The host responded very quickly to our questions in the week. Would happily stay again.

This is a fantastic Cottage.

High-quality facilities throughout. The decor in every room is superb and we loved the little details too from the ambient lighting, the USB sockets, extremely well stocked kitchen, range of books, dvds and games, the underfloor heating, etc I could go on. Our hosts were extremely welcoming, leaving a lovely little welcome hamper, bowl of chocs, handy hint "packs" and even offering to show us how to light the fantastic wood burning stove. The website photos do show the property well but i have to mention the cinema/games room this was on another level, we all loved spending time in there, it was an excellent feature and great space for family get togethers. I would stay again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend to anyone.

This was our first holiday with our 5-month-old and couldn't have asked for a better place for our son's first holiday.

The property exceeded all our expectations, we couldn't have asked for more. The whole property from the fixtures and fittings have been thought out so well. I couldn't recommend it more. We hope we'll be back again soon.

Everything is of a very high standard from bedding,furniture,cutlery everything absolutely perfect. The cinema room made it for us,we had so much fun playing table football,darts and having music loud and not worrying about the neighbour's.The location is brilliant,10 min walk into Bowness. Would recommend Popeyes pizza in Windermere,one of the best.An amazing holiday home,hope to return.

Wow what an amazing cottage!

! Me and my family stayed 7 nights and we enjoyed ourselves so much. The cottage is very modern and the facilties are amazing. The games room/cinema room was fab and we spent so much time in there. The mood lighting in the bathrooms and bedrooms was a very nice touch. Only 25mins walk into bowness! So perfect location too! All in all we had a fab stay and would definitely come back. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Hazelnut Cottage is probably the best self catering house we've ever stayed in.

It's done to an extremely high spec throughout and there was plenty of everything. Nothing was scrimped on. Fantastic T.V room downstairs, super comfy beds. Fantastic location. Couldn't fault the property at all. We did have issues with the heating and hot water but the owner was very responsive in trying to sort them. The only improvement I could suggest is getting rid of the flower bed/ stones outside so that parking for two cars is not as stressful.

What a wonderful cottage.

We were a family group and we all loved everything, a lovely log burning stove for us oldies to sit and relax with a glass of wine and a fabulous cinema room for the grandchildren to chill in. We had to contact the owners for a small issue but they called and sorted it immediately. Can’t fault anything and loved the welcome hamper and there was also a lovely Christmas tree set up. We hope to be back next year.

Excellent cottage, very comfortable and extremely well fitted out.

Well what can I say, perfection pretty much.

No expense has been spared on this house, its just stunning, straight out of a magazine. We used it for a special birthday celebration where 2 families met up. Couldn't have found a better place, the kitchen was brilliant with 2 ovens and everything you could need, the dining room was great for our family meals. The bedrooms were just fantastic, those changing colour lights are all wonderful touch. I'd only pick up on the front twin and back ensure room being a tad chilly, though it was very windy, the heaters didn't see to get hot. The main bathroom.........wow! Id have lived n there, i loved it, the decor and heated floor ans mirror and shower just wow! However as others have said the icing on the cake was the basement cinema and games room, our children just loved it as well as my other family members, who knew we were so competitive at darts! I think a few orders are wanting to be put in for those bean bags too!! Location was perfect we definitely want to return.

Wow this is a really luxurious house where the owners have clearly spared no expense to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Everything down to the plentiful cutlery draw, the log supply, the mood lighting in the bedrooms and bathrooms, the welcome pack and the huge TV in the cinema room was just perfect. The location couldn’t be any better either - 2 mins walk into Windermere and 20mins into Bowness. We stayed as a group of 8 and would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be booking it again. Thank you.

Hazelnut Cottage is a beautiful property in the heart of Windermere with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable, relaxing stay.

The owners, Chris and Nicola, have really thought carefully about the layout which means there is lots of living space and everywhere has been finished to a high standard so it feels really luxurious. We loved everything about it (especially the pillows - they were so comfortable!) and the little touches that really made it feel like a home away from home. I can't recommend it highly enough and we are already planning a return trip.

My family and I enjoyed a great week staying at hazelnut cottage, shops, bars, cafés on your doorstep around the corner, so convenient.

And as for the cottage, everything you need, well clean and catered for, could not ask for anything more. Would highly recommend.

High standard of decor and fittings . Brilliant if you have older children/young teens in the party due to basement with table football, darts and cinema style TV . Listed as having no WiFi but this is incorrect. Would definitely re book. Shared outdoor area at back could do with a bit of a tidy up but otherwise perfect
