Afterwards, curl up with your loved ones and a bowl of popcorn as you select a family favourite from the TV, as the flame effect woodburner adds an alluring glow. Relax in the bath or freshen up in the shower after a day of adventure, before choosing from two bedrooms to catch your rest in, a double and a bunk. Wake-up tired eyes with a steaming cup of coffee, which you can enjoy on the front terrace as you soak up the far-reaching views. Windermere's inviting cafés, such as The Windermere Speakeasy, Hooked, and The Pig, are perfect for treating your loved ones to a great lunch after a day on the water. Following a walk around the lake, the more adventurous members of your group can ascend to the vantage points on Queen Adelaide’s Hill and Orrest Head to take in the stunning panorama of the Langdale Pikes. The World of Beatrix Potter and the Windermere Golf Club are two other options. A visit to Ambleside is a must, here you can see the ruins of a Roman fort from the 2nd century, as well as the former Lakeland cottage of the famed poet, William Wordsworth. Continue onto Grasmere where you can wander the poet’s former home, an exceptional National Trust site.
