Lower Sheriff's Place

Gate needs attention urgently for children and dogs doesn’t close would benefit with a hand rail on the steps from the living room to the bathroom welcome pack is a waste of time but in my opinion the gate and rail is a must

The flat is a lovely space for a short getaway and priced reasonably we thought however we did secure it on a reduced rate closer to our desired date to get this.

We loved the modern features and the property was very clean. We struggled to access netflix, BBC player and things like that so unfortunately on a rainy night in we were stuck with a small selection of live TV. Both TV's said that they had screen sharing ability so that we could use our phone to stream programs instead but we couldn't get this to work. The fake lawn is a good thought but with people having pets that stay it didn't look too clean and when our dog came back in we had to wash their paws which made me think it wasn't often cleaned. We loved the outdoor warm water tap feature to keep pets clean before entering the property and it was great to have a parking space next to the property.

Flats lovely but loud when others are in the place above you.

WiFi also isn’t very good in the bedroom and bathroom. Everything else was lovely and really enjoyed our stay there!

This was our second time staying at this property which is a real home form home.

We intend to stay again and we recommend the accommodation. The accommodation is of a high standard. The bathroom is huge and the shower is excellent. The bed is large and has a very comfy mattress. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need. The lounge and dining area are perfect for two. The hall way is great, super spacious and coats and boots can be left there helping to keep the property clean and tidy. Also great for drying the Dog after his walk. Everything we needed for our little dog was provided and he loved the treats and toys. There is a very safe enclosed garden which was well used. The location of this property with a free parking space is perfect. You can be in Windermere or Bowness quickly after a short walk. There is also access to many frequent buses, the stop is just outside. We were disappointed with the welcome hamper this time. Last time it was lovely and in keeping with the price band of the property. This time we had some biscuits and nothing else! We have had better hampers in lower priced accommodation! This should be reconsidered as the welcome book describes and pictures a much better hamper. Lastly given the price bracket it would be good to have Kitchen Roll and tissues provided. The property is beginning to show a few signs of minor wear and tear but easily monitored and it being super clean is what matters. Overall a great place to stay and we would highly recommend it.

Great accommodation, decorated to a high standard.

Great location for getting to town centre by foot or bus. Nice walk nearby for dogs.

We had a great stay at Lower Sheriff’s place.

Very comfortable bed and stunning shower room. However we found the sofa to be rather uncomfortable and could do with being replaced for one more sumptuous. Also the noise from the upper flat was far more pronounced than expected and the washing machine was on several times a day and night, possibly it could be requiring to be levelled and placed on a more solid base as when on full ‘spin’ it was very prominent. A beautiful flat but maybe we were just unfortunate with the noise issues that week

This apartment is first class everything you could want to make your holiday ideally situated between Bowness and Windermere would definitely recommend

We have stayed at Lower Sheriffs Place before and was so good to return.

It is an amazing place and in a perfect location and brilliant for car parking. We had amazing weather also, so yes it's the perfect place to stay.

Two small points of feedback: (we hired both Lower & Upper) 1.

really difficult to contact anyone to check things about the property - in our case to have two twin beds put together and to check if early check in was available. 2.Hot water for the shower kept running out - especially when you have 6 people needing to all shower twice daily.

The holiday property is done out very nice with attractive furnishings although the table wobbled quite a bit due to the uneven floor.

There was also very little crockery meaning the dishwasher went on more often than needed. Unfortunately the weather was particularly bad whilst we were there and the central heating controller was not working. This was reported twice to Lakelovers, who said themselves it was like winter, but nobody ever arrived meaning we were left uncomfortably cold with a lot of wet clothes lying around.

This was our third visit.

The high standard of the property has been maintained. It remains very well equipped. A home from home. Thank you for the welcome pack. We enjoy the position of the property between Bowness and Windermere which means we can leave the car should we choose. The electric charging point is a good idea. We've had the lovely holiday in spite of the weather.

First time staying in the apartment and would definitely return again, location was excellent for Bowness & Windermere.

Beautiful apartment in a fantastic location, 10 minute walk each way to both Windermere and Bowness.

Very well equipped with everything you could need for a short break and the welcome hamper was a lovely touch. Only 2 very minor gripes; 1) The internet connection isn’t good, you will struggle to watch catch up TV without buffering. 2) The noise from the flat upstairs was very loud, the family staying there the same week sounded like they were trying to bounce house bricks on the floor. Lots of loud banging which was quite annoying. Overall though, we had an amazing stay here.

A well set up apartment and located centrally.

Nice touch with basket of goodies. Unable to get EV to charge and gave up in the end as I had a hybrid otherwise it would of have become an issue. Found plenty of good places for eating out so no cooking. The Station at Oxenholme is still very good and went twice. Overall a very enjoyable week.

This is a lovely property with high spec fixtures & fittings at an exceptionally reasonable price.

We would highly recommend its central location if you’re wishing to visit various locations throughout The Lakes. There is also a convenient bus stop outside the property if you’re wishing to explore further a field without the need of your car. We’ve had a fantastic week!

Lovely clean cosy property been few times now and have rebooked again only suggesting may be new sofa it's not that comfy any more

The accommodation was fantastic, very clean, modern and very comfortable. Home from home. I could not find any fault at all. I didn’t want to leave when our break came to an end. We cooked in the lovely kitchen most nights. I would definitely stay again.

Ideally located for Windermere & Bowness with lots of walks nearby. Was ideal for a couple with a dog, we had a great week. Would definitely recommend this property & we are currently looking to rent the whole property for a family get away.

Loved the property and location.

Would highly recommend and would book again. Only small change would be, a seat at front of property and slabbed patio at rear instead of astroturf. Astroturf not ideal with dogs! That would make the property perfect. We 100% loved our stay x

Excellent property, ideal for a couple and a dog.

In a good location,ideal walking distance to Bowness or Windermere. I would say this is probably one of the best and cleanest dog property’s we’ve stayed in. The only criticism I would have is, you can hear every footstep from upstairs, however this wouldn’t stop us booking it again.

Fabulous high spec, dog friendly apartment.

..you don't get that very often! Pristine, comfortable and well appointed. Super comfortable, king size bed with crisp white bed linen and plenty of towels. Central location for restaurants and shops and not too far away from the mountains where we like to be. I would most definitely stay here again and would also look into renting the whole property for an extended family break.

This is our second stay at lower sheriff.

We love how it feels cosy yet spacious and has everything we need for a lovely stay. Walking in to a welcome packages such as shower goodies and wine and chutneys are small but really appreciated gestures. To give this place some constructive feedback I would say the bed is a bit small and would be better to go a little larger and a must could be to invest in better sound insulation as unfortunately you can hear everything from upstairs

Beautifully high specification apartment with everything a couple and dog would need.

The location was great for exploring the Lakes, parking was easy and the entire property was extremely comfortable. We loved the comfortable bed, the fluffy towels, the heated floor in the bathroom, in fact we could find nothing wrong with it at all. Definitely recommend and maybe return to one day, thank you.

The radiator in the en-suite is on all the time which is wasteful and unnecessary.

I could not work out how to turn it off. Challenges getting in to the property on arrival (the cleaner had put the catch down on the Yale lock on Lower door) were handled very poorly by the agents.

Excellent property really comfortably everything you need to hand and a lovely touch with the welcome basket the only thing that let it down slightly was when the guests upstairs can back you could them moving around but still 10 / 10 would highly recommend

This apartment is in a great location and has everything you need for a lovely stay in the lakes.

It has been renovated to a high standard and would highly recommend it. It is pet friendly with a small secure garden area.

Fantastic ground floor dog friendly luxury apartment, a home from home, the owners have the apartment well equipped, fantastic easy to use shower, and the addition of the log burner to cosy up to, which is great after a long walk, our Cockapoo Spencer loved it!

Absolutely loved my stay at Lower Sheriffs place, it was the perfect luxury break for me and my lovely labrador.

The location is perfect and loved getting back from a long walk, putting the log burner on and cosying up with the dog and a nice book. Can’t wait to hook up again!

We spent a week here and we couldn’t find a single fault.

First class accommodation in pristine condition. Fabulous welcome pack not only for us but also for our dog. Bed incredibly comfortable, kitchen is well equipped and parking is safe and secure. The location is ideal as you are equidistant between Windermere and Bowness so a comfortable walk to both. Excellent restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Overall excellent accommodation in prime location. We’d return in a heartbeat x

A brilliant refurbishment. I could not find any negatives and that’s very rare.

This is a beautiful apartment, well appointed, well furnished and comfortable.

The kitchen is very well equipped. A lot of thought appears to have been given to the decor. We loved it. Its situation was perfect for us within walking distance of Windermere and Bowness. The parking space was a bonus. We will certainly book again.

The attention to detail in this lovely apartment was outstanding.

The owners thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible, including nice little touches like a welcome hamper, which even included some treats for the dog. Beautifully decorated, great tech facilities, lovely back garden area, perfect parking and location a few minutes walk to both Windermere and bowness and a short drive to Ambleside. Loads of lovely walks nearby….what more could you want!

Only one little niggle no corkscrew,bought one and left it there. Overall great place to stay. Next time would like to book upper and lower apartment so our daughter and grandchildren can stay.

A beautifully renovated place to stay, in a fantastic location sat right between Windermere and Bowness.

Just a 10 minute easy walk in either direction to all the coffee shops, pubs and some great local restaurants.

Found the apartment was in a great location near Bowness and Windermere.

The apartment itself has been well thought out and all the facilities are top notch, this made our stay so relaxing. A lovely touch was the welcome basket for ourselves and one for the dog which went down really well. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
