“Overall we were very happy with our stay.”

Great to be in the town, near shops etc with on site parking. 3 comfortable bedrooms with good quality bedlinen & excellent bathrooms. Plenty of hot water & the property was cleaned well. 3 comfy sofas in the lounge too. However there were some minor problems. Some issues were easily rectified: there were no egg cups, or a tray in the kitchen. A tray is vital when you have to carry food up steps from the kitchen, & through the lounge to get to the dining room. There were no basins or bowls ...

There were no basins or bowls for cooking in the kitchen. We like to have scrambled eggs for Christmas Day breakfast but there was nothing to mix them in. I was able to purchase all the missing items from a local hardware store. I left these when we ended our stay. The property description said a starter pack for the log burner would be provided - it wasn't. Again we bought kindling, logs & firelighters locally. Unfortunately there was an issue with lack of heating in the dining room, despite adjusting the thermostat. This meant that it was decidedly chilly in the room, uncomfortable when you are eating meals, especially your Christmas lunch! We did contact Lakelovers who sent someone to check the heating but he just confirmed the radiators didn't need bleeding & we would need a plumber, which he would arrange. As we were leaving the next day, I don't know if the matter was resolved. A note about the spiral stairs: although the property description was accurate, the stairs are extremely narrow and there are areas in the bedroom it leads to where it's easy to bang your head (despite one beam being padded!)

Thanks for taking time to write such a comprehensive review, and glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. I note the kitchen items that you mention, and apologies about those. I’m unsure what has become of the tray and the mixing bowls, but those items were definitely in the kitchen cupboards, so perhaps they had been broken or damaged at some time and I was not informed. So sorry about that; I will definitely check what’s what at the next opportunity. And thanks for the heads up about the dining room radiator. A plumber was called to resolve the matter. Thanks again Property Owner
