Snowflake Cottage is well positioned dog-friendly traditional property in Windermere close to shops, eateries and local walks.

The cottage is well maintained with spacious kitchen, dining and living room to accommodate 6 people. The kitchen is well equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay. The seating on the right side of the sofa facing the window sinks down so we avoided using that side of the sofa. The close proximity to the CO-OP was a benefit and drawback as early morning deliveries were noisy for those in the front bedroom because during the very hot weather the bedroom window needed to be open. This isn't an issue when the window is closed as the double glazing and shutters provide a very effective sound barrier. The main bathroom was a tale of two halves the bath and sink were spotless however there was mildew in the shower grout and the shower door seals. There were cleaning products in the kitchen which I used to clean the shower grout and seal on the door but the seal positioned in the frame couldn't be cleaned thoroughly because of it's design. The separate toilet was spotless and a real bonus and the ensuite bathroom was also clean and well maintained. The bedrooms are of a high standard, comfortable and clean with good storage and soft quality towels. The twin bedroom at the top of the house is very contemporary and of a high standard with an ensuite, this bedroom is accessed by a steep staircase which is worth noting for anyone with mobility issues. The outside space offers a lovely seating area to the back with lighting and steps to a welcomed parking space. There is also a lovely seating area to the front of the house and a parking permit for a second car. Snowflake Cottage is a lovely property and somewhere I would book again, having dog bowels available was great as I forgot to bring mine.

Absolutely fantastic cottage, in the perfect location.

So easy to get everywhere and pop out for lovely food/wine too. The car space was so handy as were all the facilities. I’m definitely going to visit again. I can’t fault it, but the only feedback would be larger towels - and softer pillows - but that’s not a complaint at all.

It is in a perfect location near to the shops, cafes and restaurants in Windemere. The house had everything we needed and lots of space for our 3 year old. The parking space and permit were also very handy. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you.

Absolutely perfect!

Beautiful house, perfect location, spotlessly clean. For us a parking space is a must and the outside space was an added bonus as was the Welcome Pack. My only gripe was the size of the bath towel, I would have preferred a bath sheet. Excellent quality so I would have liked to be wrapped up in it! But that’s just personal preference. We will be booking again for January!

Lovely accommodation.

Great position for facilities in the town. Parking good; even the on-street parking wasn't hard to find. One star less for comfort as our 4 year-old found the fire doors hard to open so wasn't as independent as she could have been - but we understand the need for functioning fire doors! The wifi instructions would be more convenient if they were in the information folder. Cleanliness and provision of equipment excellent. We had an enjoyable few days with good weather as a bonus. Thank you.

Beautiful cottwge, tastefully decorated, everything you need and having an off road parking space is so handy, fantastic location in the centre of Windermere.

We had a wonderful stay in Snowflake cottage with our two mini schnauzers.

It’s very clean, has gorgeous stylish decor, and is so conveniently located to all that Windermere offers. We reported an issue with the TV and someone came out to investigate the following day. You won’t be disappointed if you book a stay here; we hope to return soon x

We stayed for 4 weeks while having work done on our house and Snowflake Cottage was perfect.

Had everything we needed, nice handy location, private parking plus a permit to park a second car on the street. Was nice and comfortable, like home from home. Thanks!

Really clean, comfortable and nicely furnished cottage in a great location.

So much to do without needing to use the car, and private parking a real benefit too.

The cottage is a bit old but feels comfortable.

It was clean and we enjoyed the nice back yard. It is close to the pier and a walking trail by the river.

We enjoyed our stay at Snowflake Cottage.

The house was warm, clean and comfortable and ideally placed to visit the Lakes whilst also conveniently situated close to plenty of places to eat out. The rear parking space and EV charging station was an added bonus and very beneficial. The only slight disappointment was no welcome pack of tea and biscuits despite a welcome card asking us to enjoy…? Fortunately with a Co-op at the end of the road that was quickly remedied and the tea cravings were satisfied :) We would definitely recommend Snowflake Cottage and be happy to stay again.

We loved our stay at the cottage.

Lovely design and decoration. Great location, was only 5 mins walk from local shops and cafe. We were given a lovely bottle of fizz when we arrived. thank you very much!

We used the bottom oven once and it did not seem to reach temperature.

We were using it to keep food warm as opposed to cooking so it wasn’t a big deal to us but thought we should make you aware.

Hi we have been using lakelovers for a few years now and have never had any problems till we visited snow flake cottage the location and cleanliness of cottage was spot on however we had problems with kitchen area cold tap was broken the shelf in fridge door was broken and fridge was iced up, the freezer did not work there was 2 broken plates in cuboard and several chipped glasses and there was only 5 forks this made our holiday very inconvenient for us but it did not spoil our holiday in Windermere cheers Ian

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Nice to have a private parking space to the rear. Only negative was that the main bed was very low and a struggle to get out of after hiking the fells the day before, could be my age :)

In addition to the feedback provided to Lakelovers on our first day, the property is in need of a maintenance and deep clean visit, also given our booking was for winter and the forecast was for freezing weather it was disappointing to find the heating set almost constantly to 8 degrees C, it was 24 hours before the property reached a comfortable temperature.

A beautifully presented house from which to enjoy Windermere and the surrounding area.

The house had everything we needed for a short break between Christmas and New Year. Comfy beds and great to have a private parking space with direct access to the rear of the house. Appreciated the bottle left for us on arrival and we really hope to return. Steep stairs to the 2nd floor as mentioned in the listing. We couldn’t get the bottom oven to heat up but we managed with the hob, ‘top’ oven and microwave. We also enjoyed food from magic wok and the little chippy locally. Would recommend the pottery shop cafe too - spent a happy couple of hours painting items which are to be posted home.

Snowflake Cottage is the perfect holiday home for the Lakes Beautifully decorated and furnished.

with comfy beds and chairs, and a well equipped kitchen. Perfect to have a parking space as well as a visitors car pass, in case friends/ family visit. Location-wise is unbeatable, just a few metres walk to a train, bus, bars, restaurants and shops, as well as many walks in the South Lakes. We’ll definitely be back .. thank you so much

This was due to an issue at another property we were staying at. Sykes did amazing at sorting us somewhere else so quickly. This cottage literally has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Spotless clean with lovely fluffy towels and plenty of space for everyone to relax in. The cottage is located in a prime spot so close to the local shops and restaurants in Windermere. The parking space at the back was an added bonus if you come by car. I don’t use my car here as we enjoy walking and using the local bus services, the bus stop is around the corner. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return in the future.

Wow what can I say, this is such a lovely cottage.

A lot bigger on the inside from what it looks outside, we were a family of five and had plenty of room, it may be a little cramped in the lounge if there are six of you. Bedrooms lovely, only a minor point, it would be nice if both bedrooms could be king size beds as the double is small if you are over 6 foot. Location is perfect everything you need on your doorstep. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely property in an ideal location close to all of Windermere's amenities.

Very clean and tidy, and really well-presented. Only issue we had was no access to BBC channels without logging into iPlayer on the smart TV in the lounge and login required to watch Channel 4 etc. via the TV apps, but that wasn't really detrimental to the property as a whole. Parking at the rear of the property was a real plus, given that Windermere town is often very busy and parking is at a premium. Have stayed in less appealing properties in and around Bowness and Windermere, and this one really stood out for all the right reasons. Spacious and roomy, with high ceilings and big bedrooms, and no less than 3 toilets over the 3 floors. Nothing bad to say about Snowflake Cottage at all. Worth the money and a great base for a family break in the Lake District.

Wonderful house, its home from home couldn’t ask for more.

It was very clean and had everything we needed. It’s great having the parking space which is plenty big but can be tight manoeuvring into the lane between parked cars. Just a minute walk across the road to the co-op and to the Main Street lots of coffee shops and restaurants, lovely ice cream shop - no hills unlike Bowness which is a short drive, beautiful but full of tourists and bus trips of school kids. There is a little gravel area at the front of the house which was useful for my small dogs. Highly recommend and would definitely love to return.

Great location however, in needs on lots of attention.

Property had everything we needed for a short stay with friends. Decoration is in need of a lot of tidying up. The house was overall fairly clean but lots of cobwebs around light fittings. Also smelt damp on arrival. Also missed having TVs in bedrooms.

Such a lovely cottage! Furnished to a very nice standard so nice for relaxing. Perfect location for shops and restaurants and a great base for heading out sightseeing or walking. The car park space is a real bonus! Park up and forget about your car. Very clean and comfortable. I would visit again!!

Beautiful decor, plenty of space, perfect base for being outdoors and everything had been thought about to make the stay as close to being at home as possible (with added lakes and mountains nearby!) Added bonus of parking and being dog friendly. In fact, it was one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in as a family. Thank you.

Stay was lovely.

Loud neighbours and on busy road. Could not check 8n until 4pm but 3pm stated in confirmation.

We had a lovely week at Snowflake cottage, so nice being close to Windermere village centre with cafes, bars and shops.

The cottage was lovely and comfortable with all we needed. When we had a problem with the property Sykes were very helpful and prompt in sorting it out as were the owners. The only thing on the website that wasn't clear is the parking. There is an off road parking space at the property as well as a permit to park on the road at the front, so room for two cars.

Great cottage, well placed for hills, restaurants and bars, only a short distance to lake at Bowness on Windermere.

Over the last few years we have been to many cottages and this is probably the best one we have been to, clean and well furnished. Coupe of minor areas for improvement, leaky tap in kitchen sink and small leak from sink in first bathroom bathroom. Would benefit from a gate in back garden to make it fully enclosed, otherwise perfect.

Lovely cottage in a great central location.

No complaints about the cottage only suggestion would be a gate in the back garden so those guests with dogs can let them out securely. Other than that fabulous great to have a parking space and will definitely return to this cottage.

Great stay, great cottage and great location.

We did lots of walks during our stay, arriving home tired at the end of the day to a very comfortable cottage with a brilliant, large bath. Loved the local bars and restaurants for a few enjoyable evenings out.

What a great time we had during our first trip to the lakes.

Everything was spot-on, comfortable beds, cosy lounge, great dining room. Windermere is a fab place and cottage a 2 minute walk into town offering lots of bars and restaurants. Bowness is a 15-minute walk away, providing even more choice. Will re-book this cottage, hopefully returning in the summer when everywhere will be even more beautiful.

We stayed with our friends, another couple, and all agreed place great. Feel cottage would accommodate young and old along with families or couples enjoying a break away together. It’s a very traditional cottage with beautiful stonework popular in the lake district. Great on-suite bedroom on the 3rd level offering a ‘break-out’ space if you like some downtime or perfect for teenagers. Had a fabulous holiday which won’t be our last as we will return with our grandchildren.

Perfect cottage in perfect location with everything on our doorstep .

Cottage is nice and roomy with three spacious bedrooms and the kids loved the top floor bedroom . Lovely lounge and dining room which we used every night and everything you could need is available in the kitchen . Everything is top notch and we won’t hesitate to visit again

Amazing cottage in a brilliant location We had a really enjoyable stay at Snowflake cottage.

We found it to be immaculate, extremely comfortable, beautifully furnished & decorated and really well equipped. It’s in an ideal location so close to the centre of Windermere, with a parking space at the back which is a huge benefit.

We had a great weekend in this wonderful cottage, that has everything you could need and more!

It is very cosy and warm, with an electric fire in the living room. It is situated just a minutes walk from Windermere and all of its bars, restaurants and shops. It was great having a private car parking space at the back of the property, as the roads require a parking permit and are very busy. Overall a wonderful place to stay, definitely would recommend. Can’t wait to return!

The location could not be better, and Snowflake offered everything we could have wished for. A tasteful, yet very cosy place, we instantly felt at home. Loved the additional bonus of a parking space and was spoilt for choice where to eat. We will be returning - Anne & Martin

We had such a lovely stay at this house in Windermere.

The property was spotless when we arrived, and every room was beautifully decorated with real attention to detail. It was super spacious yet cosy, giving us plenty of room to relax and enjoy our time together. The location couldn't have been better, it is right in the heart of Windermere with shops, cafes, and everything we needed just on the doorstep, and the lakes just a 15-minute walk away! The gorgeous bathroom and huge bath must get a special mention; it was exactly what we needed after a long day of walking! Such a wonderful spot couldn't recommend enough!
