“This is a clean, comfortable, and attractive cottage located within a very easy distance of Windermere's shops and amenities (30 seconds walk to the Co-op).”

It is generally well-equipped with very comfortable beds and a nice selection of books and games. Parking on the street was never an issue: we always found a spot available. We enjoyed our stay: the only problem we had was that the underfloor heating in the main living area (the basement kitchen/sitting room) was not working for the whole of our stay. We did report this: a maintenance man came round to look at it, agreed that it wasn't working, and said that a heating engineer would come to look at it but this never materialised. We gave up on chasing it as we just wanted to enjoy our holiday and not spend the whole time on the phone. It was a shame, as it meant that the main living area was chilly unless we had a fire burning - I imagine that it is very cosy when the underfloor heating is working. Hopefully this has now been resolved for future guests. A couple of other minor issues: the freezer was covered in thick ice and in need of a defrost, and the extractor fan in the downstairs bathroom didn't work. Also it would have been helpful to have hand-soap provided in the bathrooms. Overall we still enjoyed our stay here: the cottage is very pleasant and just needs a little bit of attention to make it perfect for guests.
