The Flat

Excellent accommodation for exploring the Solway coast area.

The Flat was perfectly clean, tidy and well looked after. The scones and jam were a most welcome treat as well. The location provides easy access not only to the Solway coast but also to Carlisle city, the northern lake district and the immediate south coast of Scotland.

The Flat was very homely and comfortable, everything we needed for a perfect stay.

We enjoyed sitting outside as weather was wonderful and it was so chilled there. Location was good for us, as we were spending time with family. Would definitely book again

Absolutely spot on.

Everything we could need had already been thought of, and it was beautifully clean, quiet and comfortable. The scones were an absolute treat! Great for the dog too, with walks from the doorstep and plenty of other walks (as well as a 3-acre dog field) only 10 - 15 minutes away.

The Flat is really comfortable, warm and convenient, and the owners are extremely helpful and kind.

Off road parking. Churchyard opposite that was handy for a quick dog walk morning and night!

What a great place to stay.

A lovely lounge with a comfortable sofa, kitchen with everything you could need, a bedroom with plenty of storage and a comfy bed and a bathroom with a roomy walk-in shower. Everything immaculately clean, great WiFi, and …….. gorgeous scones. Just book it!

The Flat was spacious for the two of us.

It was very clean and had everything we needed with modern furnishings. The porch is perfect for taking off boots etc. There was ample parking. The village location is good with walks from the doorstep.

First class cottage, homely and comfortable.

Exellent for local walks. An ideal base for exploring the lake district and Hadrians wall area. The Solway firth and Carisle castle are only a short distance away. Burgh- on Sands itself is a beautiful village with a village pub.

A lovely find - exactly as listed, and as needed between the Christmas & NY chaos while visiting family nearby in hospice care.

The Christmas tree & home made mince pies were also a lovely touch.

This is our 2nd visit to The Flat in 12 months - and we love it.

It's perfect for 2, lots of space, well laid out but is still cosy and welcoming. Well equipped kitchen (even has a pizza cutter!), welcoming pack of butter, milk and homemade scones. Location is excellent for exploring this beautiful mostly undiscovered part of Cumbria.

A very good quality holiday let.

The interior was thoughtfully designed, clean, comfortable and equipped with everything that you would need. The flowers and scones were a nice welcoming touch. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We had a lovely stay here.

Well equipped with everything you need for a cosy stay. Lots to do in the surrounding area, especially if you like history.

We were very impressed with The Flat.

It was comfortable and tastefully furnished. In fact it is one of the nicest we have stayed in. There was milk and butter in the fridge and homemade scones on the side, which was a lovely touch. There was even freshly cut flowers on the table. Communication with Marion was very good. The Flat was an ideal base to explore either the Lakes, Hadrians Wall or Dumfrieshire, which is what we did. There is a good pub in the Village and another near by. Both serve delicious food, especially The Drovers Rest. We had a lovely time and would book The Flat again if we wanted to further explore the area.

We stayed here in September 23, we really loved the property, it was well maintained and just perfect for what we needed!

It is comfortable, clean and cosy, perfect for a break in this scenic part of the world.

Lovely property - ideal for 2.

Very spacious, lovely soft furnishings and finishing touches - a real home from home. Well equipped. The hosts were very welcoming - amazing scones awaiting us on arrival - and on hand if there were any issues. The arrival information available in the property was very helpful with the hosts adding their own comments and recommendations - Cranston's was a great recommendation for breakfast and sells the best pork pie! The Flat is an ideal base for exploring the top of Cumbria which is a beautiful area - we will be back.

Spent an enjoyable week despite the terrible weather.

The utility room made this possible for drying off wet jackets and dog coats. Decor is excellent. Local pub is very welcoming and provides good beer and food.

Lovely place

Gorgeous little flat.

Totally perfect for me as a single guy working in the area. The kitchen had all the crockery, utensils and utilities you`d need to cook for yourself. Nice bathroom with sundries in the shower for your use. Nice quality towels. Private parking at the door. Comfy bed and smart TV. Wifi was great. Communication with Marion the owner was excellent. Will certainly stay again if am in the area. Highly recommended.

The pictures don't do it justice. Great location in a beautiful village with a nice welcoming local pub. The hosts were lovely and friendly but also left you to it. Would definitely recommend.

A beautiful small cottage, just right for two people.

The cottage is well appointed and well maintained. Everything was super clean. It is situated in a quiet village with a pub. We ate at the pub and the food was good, honest pub grub. They also do a popular Sunday roast. We had our dog with us and there were some good walks around the village.

Hosts were very obliging and scones and welcome pack were a nice touch.

Accommodation was clean and fully equipped. Would recommend it wholeheartedly
