Great stay overall.
Obviously, it's small but given the price that was reasonable and the space there is was well-utilised. Modern, stylish decor (if you look around at Cockermouth's local history, you'll discover everything between the River Derwent and the High Street, including this flat, was badly flooded in 2009). It's worth pointing out that Bridge Street is - as the name suggests - just down from a well-used pedestrian footbridge. There were quite a lot of people passing-by just outside the living room-kitchen-dining front window but we didn't really mind and everyone was respectful. There was never any noise issues and we arrived the Saturday after the English school holidays began. Everything worked well - easy to cook in kitchen, warm shower, comfy beds and very satisfactory TV. A very small quibble was the UHT milk sachets - at least one was dated for March 2026 but that is easy to miss and we didn't use them anyway. It's so handy having a Lidl and Aldi within about five minutes walk - buy proper milk there! My wife would have really liked a washing machine but we missed this was not offered and that's our mistake. For the price we paid, this was good place to stay.
We had a lovely stay here .
The house was very comfortable and everything we needed to hand . It was in a really great location to the town and with its own parking space !! Everything was top quality , the beds ,bedding etc were very comfortable and the bedding was Hotel standard , really lovely after a tiring day . The house has been styled and furnished to a very high standard .We had lovely trips out to Bowness , Keswick, Grasmere and also enjoyed the town of Cockermouth itself . The Castle for a beer and The Bitter End for Sunday Lunch .Jennings Brewery tap room was also a favourite . We have stayed in lots of self catering accommodation in the UK and this lovely house is one of the best we have been lucky enough to reside in . We highly recommend it and hope to return at some point in the future . Parking anywhere in the lakes is a problem but we found if you went late afternoon most of the crowds have left and weather permitting , which it was for us , parking was easier . There are a lot of birds in Wordsworths garden next door and they start their dawn chorus very early so if you don't want to be woken by nature's alarm clock pack some earplugs !!
Lovely clean comfortable house.
Everything you need. Central location with easy walk to high street and river. Would definitely stay again.
