I’ve been coming for years and wouldn’t go anywhere else, it’s always clean and comfortable, the walk around the area is beautiful and marna is always friendly to talk to

Cottage very comfortable.

The only thing I would say is that the decking at the back of the cottage could do with looking at. It would be helpful to have a key safe if more than one couple are staying at the cottage.

Loved the setting, the grounds and the underlying theme of sustainability.

Some cleanliness issues - a couple of dead wasps in the living room and the rug looked as if it needed vacuuming. Also, one rug in the main bedroom a little dirty and the other smelt of dog (we didn't have dogs). Otherwise very clean. Well equipped, though no sign of the advertised welcome pack, and the drying cabinet was a thoughtful - and useful - facility.

What a lovely property, in beautiful grounds surrounded by stunning scenery with easy access to be able to explore Cumbria and the Lakes.

We had the most wonderful time and it was clear that every thought had gone in to, making our stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. If you get the opportunity to stay here, we would most definitely recommend. Such happy and friendly people ☺️

This is the second time we’ve stayed on this site (previously at Buttermere on the same site).

The grounds are extensive and beautiful. The accommodation is well thought out and comfortable. The view from the grounds is outstanding. We stayed with our 2 kids and dog and the set up suited us perfectly.

Wonderful place to stay , stunning accommodation and gardens and very friendly owner and other staff .

This was an ideal place to stay for our daughter and son in laws wedding at Low Hall.

Easy to find, and had everything we needed. Clean and warm and the owner was very helpful answering our queries before travelling. Would definitely recommend staying here.

An excellent and spacious property.

The kitchen and the facilities etc were perfect. I wonderful peaceful environment. I must note that the two frying pans, which looked new are not NON-STICK. So good that we may well visit Esthers Cottage again.

A lot of thought had gone into the design of these eco barns.

They offered privacy, peace and lovely views. We appreciated the thought that had been given to making them and our experience as carbon neutral as possible. We particularly enjoyed the organic veg box provided.

Carol responded very quickly when a problem occurred with the hot water following a power cut in the area.

She was very helpful throughout our stay.

The facilities and whole environment really were second to none!

So many thoughtful and thought provoking ideas to make the experience both luxurious and eco friendly. Quite a special place - and hopefully an example of what self-catering facilities will all be like in the future

As Southwaithe Bridge closed for repairs, sat nav may take you wrong way!

The owner was very helpful when there was a bit of a hiccup.

Lovely peaceful setting and a comfortable cottage.

We arrived to find a box of fresh vegetables and Lakeland plum bread waiting for us - which was very welcome. We never managed to get the underfloor heating in the bedroom to come on, but it wasn’t a particularly cold weekend and the rest of the cottage was warm. The log burner was also well supplied and made for cozy evenings.
