“What a little gem, both cottage and village.”

Had no problem finding the property at all. The entrance/exit could be a little tricky as it’s quite narrow & on an incline and is difficult to see any cars coming. However it was a bonus to have private parking. On entering I found everything I needed for my stay and a few extra to- thank you for the wine and chocolates nice touch. The bed was super comfy. Which made it easier to sleep ( with the heatwave) I couldn’t find a fan but for the most part it was fine bc the property is shaded ...

However it was a bonus to have private parking. On entering I found everything I needed for my stay and a few extra to- thank you for the wine and chocolates nice touch. The bed was super comfy. Which made it easier to sleep ( with the heatwave) I couldn’t find a fan but for the most part it was fine bc the property is shaded and stayed cool enough. My only niggle was the sofa I found that a little uncomfortable for me but I put it down to the design as it’s a sofa bed. The river can be heard but it’s not intrusive. When in the bedroom it’s bearable audible. The Wheatsheaf in the beautiful village is a nice pub for food as is within walking distance. As is the micropub The OPO BAR if you fancy something different. Whichever way you go there’s a hill into the village but is doable if you take it steady. Thank you Sally and Dave for a fabulous little hideaway. I hope to be back sometime soon.

The property

This peaceful cottage is resting in the village of Ingleton, taking its name from the River Doe which meets the River Twiss at the bottom of the garden.

Ideal for couples, this romantic retreat promises a lovely stay all year round.

Upon entering you will be greeted by a light and airy sitting room, hosting a sofa and accessorized with cushions.

You can enjoy some quiet time at the nearby dining table which is tucked into the corner.

A splash of colour ties the room together well and doors open out to the welcoming garden.

Further round, a double bedroom makes a homely place to rest with a book, before enjoying a peaceful nights sleep.

Accompanying the room, an en-suite is classically arranged with nautical colours that bring a refreshing finish to the layout.

The nearby kitchen is well equipped, with an almost country feel, and makes an ideal place to prepare those delightful meals throughout the day before heading back into the lounge.

In the morning time, you can rest at the breakfast bar with a cup of tea and plan out your afternoon.

Outside is where you will want to be, sitting in the beautiful garden, home to a patio, for enjoying a refreshing drink when the weather is pleasant.

A short walk takes you to the start of the Ingleton Waterfall Walk for a great day out to enjoy.

The village of Ingleton offers a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and a year-round climbing wall, as well as a seasonal heated outdoor swimming pool in a beautiful riverside setting.

An excellent location from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland, being a great base for those exploring this wonderful region and taking on the Three Peaks Challenge!
