“Bank Barn was lovely in parts - location was superb, as was the garden and with the delightful stream at the bottom of the garden.”

Unfortunately, some parts of the house were in need of a good clean and updating - the kitchen in particular. We had to clean many of the glasses, cutlery and crockery before we could use them, and the cupboards were full of cobwebs and spiders, with many of the pans needing a good clean also. It felt like the kitchen drawers might break at any moment. There were dog hairs on the seat cushions and dead flies on many window sills. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and well kept (aside from the drooping shower head!). However the sitting room and dining area upstairs felt very lived in. The lighting everywhere was quite odd also. It was somewhat disconcerting to find people in the garden one day when we got back from a walk - we appreciate maintenance on the garden needs to be done but some warning of this would have been appreciated. All in all, when we overlooked certain things, it's a lovely place to stay but it does need some updating and a deep clean.
