The location was perfect for three generations.

It’s on a main bus route, is a ten minute walk to the centre of Ambleside and has to easy access to the Fairfield Horseshoe. The lounge and kitchen were particular highlights with high quality cooking equipment which unusually for a holiday rental included sharp knifes. The parking is understated as there’s room for four vehicles. On the downside this property really needs more than one en-suite toilet and a cramped stand alone one. Issues with the front door were fed back eighteen months ago and it now needs slamming or lifting to properly engage. Finally, some of the taps and sink / bath waste trim are now showing their age but overall we had an excellent holiday and would happily return. Thank you.

A well appointed cottage just a short walk from Ambleside town centre, Old Coach house served us well for walks out of, as well as into Ambleside.

We loved the snug reading chair in the corner of the living room. We loved cooking in the huge kitchen. Being located on the main road out of Ambleside made it super easy to find and while busy, the traffic never bothered us. The only slight issue we had was that the whirlpool bath could benefit from a clean. When we used it produced black scum from the jets.

We had a lovely stay and the kitchen is the best of any holiday accommodation we’ve stayed in, very high quality and well equipped without clutter.

The lounge is great too and very comfortable. The upstairs master bedroom is very nice as well. There’s always going to be a compromise and this is with the downstairs bedrooms, the middle of which is quite dark and while the largest has an en-suite, it has no toilet. The description is clear though and having the extra shower is good. The basin tap in the en-suite needs attention though, the choice seems to be hot or warm which is a bit odd when you’re cleaning your teeth! Good stay though and priced right - thanks.
