The Lake District’s natural beauty and abundant wildlife inspired Beatrix Potter to write her much-loved stories. Come and explore this wonderful landscape at The World of Beatrix Potter, where all 23 magical tales are brought to life, recreating sights, sounds and aromas. Meet your favourite characters including the mischievous Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Jemima Puddle-Duck and Mrs Tiggy-winkle.
Whilst visiting the Attraction you can step outside to see Peter Rabbit’s Garden which is designed to capture the very essence of Beatrix Potter’s world, from the cos lettuces that Benjamin Bunny nibbled on to the gooseberry bush where Peter got caught in a net as he tried to escape Mr. McGregor. With old varieties of flowers, plants, fruit and vegetables (and even some authentic dandelions and nettles) there’s plenty to see and kids can explore with a free activity sheet.
Come and enjoy a warm welcome and delicious home-cooked food in our family friendly tearoom. The Peter Rabbit Kitchen Garden provides the tea room with fresh ingredients for our delicious soups, salads and cakes. Treat yourself to an afternoon tea of freshly baked scones, cakes and sandwiches whilst the kids enjoy a Peter Rabbit Picnic Basket.
When you emerge from the Attraction, don’t miss a chance to take a little bit of Potter magic home with you. The shop is a treasure trove of gifts inspired by Peter Rabbit and his friends.
