The Lake District is ideal for a romantic retreat!

The Lake District is romantic at the best of times. Whether it be raining and you have the opportunity to cosy up by the fire in one of the lovely local inn’s or glorious sunshine when you can go for a stroll up one of the fells and sit and admire the view. However, Valentine’s Day is one of our favourite times of year as lots of our lovely eateries put on gorgeous menus for us to indulge in with those we love. We have noted just a few of our favourites below along with some ideas of things to do during your stay in the Lakes.

Where to walk?

There are so many walks to choose from here in the Lakes so we have asked our office team to provide us with a few of their favourites to share with you.

Jess is a member of the sales team and when she is out of the office her favourite walk is up to the summit of Loughrigg. “Walking up the steps of Loughrigg overlooking Grasmere, with tremendous views towards the Langdales, to the top on a chilly but sunny winters day is worth every minute. I would then finish the walk with tea and cake at Chesters By The River as a reward. Or alternatively start from Chesters and indulge in their pancake breakfast and attempt to burn off the calories along the way!”

Stef, another member of our sales team loves visiting Stickle Tarn. “With great views towards Little Langdale, Scafell Pike and Lake Windermere in the distance it truly is a lovely walk. We set off on our hike from the New Dungeon Ghyll. On our return we treat ourselves to a well deserved meal at the pub!”

What to do?

Book a Hot Air Balloon Ride!

This is a superb opportunity to enjoy the rivers and fells from a rather different perspective. With the team from High Adventure you can travel over the Lakes by embarking on a hot air balloon ride in one of their colourful balloon’s. With a knowledgeable team member on board they will happily guide you through the rivers and fells you pass over during your journey. With the option of including a Champagne reception at your landing location it is a truly luxury treat with a difference.

Where to buy the flowers?
