Wolftown is a small batch drinks brand, created in and inspired by the festival and market town of Ulverston.  The name comes from the Viking Ulvs or Wolf town.

John McKeown – a TV Camera Operator, and his wife Helen, a Travel Agent decided to set up a drinks brand back in 2018, the morning after the night before, when they hit on the idea of creating a brand that was celebrating their beloved hometown of Ulverston.   Ulverston Gin was born and registered, and this then developed into the more interesting name of Wolftown – inspired by the ancient Norse name for the place.

They enrolled on a distilling course but eventually decided the best way was to develop a recipe and working with Bottomley Distillers,  they are now on their 7th batch, and have been awarded 86 point Silver Medal at the London Spirits Competition. They’ve also been awarded a Gold Medal in a blind tasting competition and a Great Taste Award.

Their first drink is an award winning contemporary gin, that stands happily on its own as a sipping gin, mixed with tonic for a refreshing cocktail and whose orange notes make it the perfect base for a Negroni.  Made with Sarsaparilla, ginger, citrus and almonds, this first contemporary gin is refreshingly different!
