The property

In the centre of the Lake District National Park in Keswick, Cumbria, this pleasant, semi-detached Victorian cottage has a prime location. Idwal Cottage is a lovely base for couples wishing to stay close to the town while being easily accessible to Bassenthwaite, Ullswater, and Cockermouth farther out. It has a range of amenities within a short walk. After a day of exploration, look forward to a movie night in the sitting room, which is furnished with vintage sofas, an electric fireplace, and a Smart TV so you are prepared for peaceful nights in. The traditional kitchen, which has a double electric oven and hob, a microwave, and a fridge, is the ideal venue for the chosen chef surprise and delight. You can start your day of carefree travels because there is also a utility with a washing machine available for your convenience. Continue up to the first floor where you'll find a charmingly furnished bedroom with stunning views of Keswick and a fantastically retro pink bathroom. This is the ultimate place to relax before another fun-filled day. There is a communal garden outside with furnishings where you may unwind with your favourite beverage and reflect on your holiday so far. The Old Mill is close by as is Keswick's wonderful amenities and activities, including cafes, pubs, restaurants, and shops. Choose from Keswick Museum, The Puzzling Place, and the Pencil Museum to keep yourself busy throughout the day, and for warmer evenings, consider Hope Park and Theatre by the Lake. Visit the Aira Force Waterfall along Ullswater, which is set in a scenic valley, or don your hiking boots and ascend Place Fell for great views of the Lake District. There are many opportunities to immerse yourself in the region's rich history thanks to Wordsworth House and Garden Memorial Gardens, which are in Cockermouth. For animal lovers, consider taking a day trip to Alpacaly Ever After, where you can get up close and personal with some furry residents. The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater. With plenty of attractions for the kids, lovely parks and the nearby Lake District Wildlife Park this is a great Lakeland destination whatever the time of year.
