“Our stay at Carwinley Mill House Cottage was absolutely wonderful, and we were greeted with a very warm welcome by the owners, then shown around as soon as we arrived.”
The cottage had recently been refurbished and we were completely taken aback by how lovely it looked, by the work that had been done to it, and it's history. It was clean, roomy, and absolutely gorgeous!
There was plenty of space for two, and outside, the cottage's position created a perfect sun trap at the top sitting area, which was great for relaxing, plus jacuzzi sessions were made even more enjoyable by the nature that was hiding in and around the trees, and the sound of the river.
The second sitting area was a few steps below and opened up onto a lovely decked balcony, overhanging the river. It really couldn't get more tranquil.
Longtown is perfect for travelling to Scotland, the Lakes, the border, or exploring further south, and my husband and I stayed at Carwinley Mill House Cottage for a week, which for us, wasn't enough, but we had to come home (although we honestly didn't want to leave!)
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and we will be booking to stay again. Danielle, Jed, Trevor and Danielle's mum were all so warm and friendly, it really topped off our stay.
