It was perfect for our family get-together; very clean, comfortable living areas, large bedrooms all en suite. It was very warm at night (unusual for the Lakes!) so some fans would have been appreciated, but other than that, we loved it!

Fabulous accommodation, excellent central location near shops & park.

Parking tight, as advised, but the mini fit easily. The fresh grocery staples of bread, milk & butter were appreciated as were the treats of wine, cake & crisps. All basics provided eg coffee tea etc. Wonderful way to celebrate my birthday with all the family. Would definitely book here again.

Our second stay at Rossett Holme over the Christmas season was just as good as our first.

As we do a lot of cooking, we particularly like the well-equipped kitchen (they really have thought of everything!) the large oven space and the combined kitchen and living area. The additional TV in a separate room provides a quiet space for those wanting to watch something in peace rather than in the general social area. Another good feature is that all three double bedrooms have their own en-suite, so each couple has equal convenience and allows the occupants of the bedroom with two single beds to have exclusive use of the shower room next door to them. The central location on the high street means that we rarely need to use the cars, but I can park our 4x4 in the allocated parking space easy enough, it just needs to be at a slight angle to fit and I have no trouble backing it out. We find parking for a second car on the street nearby with the permit provided. The Christmas hamper on arrival is a very nice touch and much appreciated. We have already booked again for our 3rd time which will be in December 2026.

We couldn’t have wished for anything more. Fully equipped & super comfortable throughout. The welcome treats were a very thoughtful, lovely gesture. We will definitely return.

solutely wonderful apartment well appointed, maintained, modern and homely.

There were however a couple of issues. The main cooker oven did not work.There were no zippable laundry bags in the bedrooms as described. Parking was not great. I drove into the parking bay but was advised to reverse in by a neighbour. I subsequently damaged my car getting out. Suggest the owner includes this reversing requirement in the directions to avoid the issue I had. The welcome basket was a great touch, overall a great stay despite the weather, parking was the big issue as we had three cars.

A wonderful home with excellent facilities and a well equipped kitchen for family meal times.

The property was exceptionally clean and tidy throughout. We were in need of nothing and enjoyed the Welcome Basket of goodies....a lovely touch!

Firstly location of this propery is ideal.

So central. We did not need to use our cars at all during our break which is always a bonus.. Accomodation is lovely and comfortable. Plenty of space for 6 adults and 1 19month old toddler. Kitchen is well equipped. Everything provided which is not always the case in some holiday homes. The welcome package was a lovely surprise and so thoughtful..Thankyou for this as i was not expecting it. Will definitely be looking to book here again.

Rossett Holme lies behind a front door which opens onto one of the main roads through Ambleside.

A superb location within easy reach of restaurants, shops and the vast network of walks which converge on the town. The property is very well maintained, comfortable and spotlessly clean. All of the beds and the furnishings are of a high standard. The kitchen is well equipped and everything works well. This proved to be an ideal choice for a group of seven people with spacious bedrooms and two areas to lounge. There is a downstairs area to hang coats and take off muddy boots which is an essential for walkers. The outside patio area would be great for sunnier days however we made limited use of this in October. Parking is always an issue in Ambleside and it was great to have a parking space at the property as well as on street parking via a parking permit. The car park below the patio is tight, larger cars may struggle especially if the adjacent properties are full of cars, but any parking space in town is a bonus so this isn’t a complaint. Overall a really comfortable place to spend a holiday in the Lake District and we would certainly love to return here in the future.

Beautiful property with everything you would need.

Great location in centre of town with parking and sunny outdoor seating area great for post walk drinks. Very clean and well maintained, couldn’t fault anything. Lovely welcome pack too!

It is a lovely cottage and suited our extended family of 7 perfectly.

Most time was spent in the kitchen / diner but the second lounge was excellent for some quiet time.

The space, the decor, the cleanliness and the location. The owners made us feel very welcome by leaving us a Christmas card and welcome snacks. I will definitely be staying here again. Seven of us enjoyed a fabulous stay at Rossett Holme over the Christmas week 2024.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable and there is a very high standard of linen, decor, fittings and features throughout the house. Liquid hand soaps, moisturiser, shower gel and shampoo are all exclusively from the Bath House in Ambleside, which is a nice touch. It was if the hosts had thought of absolutely everything guests might need, from the spare umbrellas to a multitude of kitchen utensils and cookware (very handy for making Christmas dinner!) On arrival we were delighted with the unexpected and very welcome Christmas themed hamper including, cake, mince pies, Prosecco and red wine. The welcome pack was very helpful and informative, the Wifi worked very well for those who needed it and the two separate communal living areas with large TVs were very comfortable. The parking bay is a good size for a large car and I found it easy enough to reverse out again onto the quiet road at the back of the house. A special thank you to Janet, the housekeeper who lives locally, for being so helpful with a couple of queries on arrival and particularly for contacting me after our stay to help locate and return a couple of items we had left behind! I would definately recommend this house stay to others and we are already thinking of returning again sometime in the future.

Fab welcome pack and very well equipped house in ideal central location

A lovely house, very well equipped and comfortable.

The standard of cleaning was first class.

Spotlessly clean, well furnished each bedroom has own bathroom and the location is 10/10 The slight negatives are: Parking is really tight you had to do a multi point turn to get in or out.

There’s Too many pans, serving dishes etc so little room for groceries. The wine glasses are terrible there was also only x1 gin glass. But these are just niggles and easily fixed.

The property was fantastic, it had everything we needed and more, the location was perfect.

We had three generations with varying needs and hopes for the holiday, and the accomodation suited all of us.

We had a super stay at Rossett Holme and were very impressed with everything!

The Welcome Pack was the best we’ve ever received, the whole house was comfortable and clean and the equipment and furnishings were of a lovely quality. We all loved it. Its location in the centre of Ambleside was fabulous too. We’d love to return sometime and thank you for providing such a wonderful place to relax and stay in.

We were in the Lakes for the Windermere end to end swim so it was a perfect location for the registration and pick up point. Lots of room, beautifully equipped and furnished and great position in the centre of Ambleside. Having the outside space was great too for a drink after a day of walking! What a fantastic place to stay the house is absolutely stunning however the one downside is that if you sleep in the front rooms don't expect to get much sleep they really could do with secondary glazing as the road noise and early deliveries really do spoil an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Superb property tucked away in the centre of Ambleside.

The property is spotless, very well appointed and a fantastic base for exploring the area. The parking is a tad awkward but not the end of the world. Would definitely use this property again.

Rossett Holme is a lovely place to stay.

It is well stocked with crockery, utensils and cleaning facilities. The rooms are well proportioned and beds comfortable. The welcome pack was a nice surprise. Our only criticism would be that the parking place is really only suitable for a small car.

We have stayed in a number of holiday homes, both in the UK and abroad, and this is the best of them all.

Our group consisted of four couples, each of whom were delighted with the quality of the accommodation. The kitchen/living area was an ideal social space. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The kitchen equipment was comprehensive and the welcome pack much appreciated. The location of the property is ideal for taking advantage of the local amenities and as a base for exploring the area. Would recommend without hesitation.

Fantastic property, decorated and maintained to a high standard, everything works, which in my experience is unusual for holiday rentals.

The property is ideally located in the centre of town with walks on the doorstep with plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby. Parking for our two cars was not a problem in October, there’s parking for one car at the property and we had a permit for the roads near by for the other car and there was always parking available. This might not be the the case at busier times.

Lovely spacious property, the bathroom next to twin must have been missed during cleaning.

However, we didn't notice until the day before we left as we didn't use it during our stay. Didn't like the wine glasses. The best equipped property we have stayed in.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage right in the centre of town, with private parking, and a few footsteps to all the shops, restaurants, etc that Ambleside has to offer.

What a find! The house is finished to a very high standard... perhaps better than any I have been in. Everything is spotless, high quality, and everything you might need is there. My younger generation especially loved the second TV room/snug! Also big thanks to the owners and the housekeeper for a quick resolution to the only problem that arose during our stay.

Rossette Holme is a beautiful house, and the family thoroughly enjoyed staying there.

Best bits are - the very high finish of the house, the extra snug/tv room and the sun deck (and of course the welcome pack - thank you)!

This cottage is amazing, all the rooms have been furnished to the highest standard and are spotlessly clean (thanks Janet). It has everything you need for a great weeks holiday, if you want to cook the kitchen is kitted out with all you need, if not you are in the heart of Ambleside with pubs, cafes, restaurants at your door. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and very much appreciated, we will definitely be back.

Cleanliness and furnishings were superb. Couldn’t get more central. We didn’t realise there was a front door until we were in the property. Welcome basket was wonderful. We will definitely recommend this property to our friends.

Wonderful place to stay.

As we were getting married it was a fantastic base for the family to prepare for our big day. Had problem with hot water the day before the wedding but was fixed within 2 hours. If being a bit petty you could complain about the delivery noises early morning but you are in the town centre. Plus side is you open the front door and are in the middle of Ambleside .As soon as I (sorry now we) can save the money we will rent it again.

Rossett Holme is the best holiday property in the Lakes that we have stayed in (and we've stayed in several!

). The location is slap bang in the heart of Ambleside and easy to find. Facilities are amazing with everything needed plus more for a family holiday. Beds are super comfy and having 2 comfortable sofa areas is also a plus when staying with a large family group. The kitchen is fully equipped with pretty much everything you can think of. The attention to detail in terms of decoration is clean, stylish and modern. The welcome pack was also an added luxurious extra to start the holiday and went down a treat. I would definitely recommend this property!

Our 2nd visit.

This is a great property with an excellent position in Ambleside, close to park and a good starting point for walks. Some improvements made since last year which has benefited the main living area. Food parcel again outstanding. Everything you need is there. We would highly recommend this property for a welcoming break.

The apartment is lovely.

Very spacious over two floors, good sized rooms, with fab en-suites. Everything you could possibly need and a good quality 5 star hotel feel. The decking area was perfect for sitting out in the sun. The downside is the outside noise. The front overlooks the road and the back is noisy in the early morning with deliveries to the back of the shops. I would still go again however :)

Celebrated our golden wedding anniversary with the family at Rossett Holme.

Everything was fantastic, spotlessly clean, extremely well appointed and really couldn’t have been more central. I could not recommend it more

A superb holiday home which is perfectly located in the centre of Ambleside.

Extremely well stocked with quality kitchen equipment that made self catering easy. Very clean, much appreciated welcome pack and a good supply of basic cleaning products. Beautiful furnishings with comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms, efficient heating with constant hot water. TV package and tv's in all rooms allowed our mixed party to be catered for on wet evenings. The living area is accessed by numerous steps externally at the back and internally at the front. The hallway downstairs at the front of the house provided ideal access for a pram.

Had everything you needed,kitchen fully equipped.

The bedrooms were impressive with each having there own shower and bath,normally only a shower and great location

The apartment was so well appointed, clean and lots of homely touches.

Initial supplies were welcome. The location was excellent, though having a view would have been the cherry on the cake. The apartment was spacious and suitable for the number of people in our party. Great to have so many en suites and shower rooms etc. The advertised access to the leisure club makes it sound as though it is close by in walking distance. Not a ten or more minute drive away. Consequently we did not use it. Overall an excellent facility.

We visited Ambleside for a 50th anniversary of our starting teacher training at Charlotte Mason College in 1971.

We had a wonderful time in beautiful Rossett Holme which was ideal for our visit.We enjoyed it so much we have booked a full week next year.The house is fabulous and far exceeded our expectations.We also met the lovely cleaning lady who obviously does an amazing job looking after the property for guests.Thank you also for the tasty welcome pack.

A fantastic time was had by all, lovely house in an excellent position for exploring the lakes.

My only comment is that the lower backdoor and front door locks were very stiff and difficult to operate , other than this super property.

We had the most amazing stay for my dads 60th birthday.

The house was absolutely beautiful and couldn’t have been in a better location. It was decorated to such a high standard and was absolutely immaculate! The kitchen cupboards had everything you could possibly need and it was such a lovely touch leaving bread, milk, butter, cake and prosecco for us on arrival. I have already recommended this house to all of my family and friends and we’re dying to book back up for our next stay already. Thank you so much!

Rossett Holme was the perfect place to stay!

The rooms were all excellent sizes, the property was very high quality and extremely clean. We had a lovely welcome basket when we arrived (including milk in the fridge!) which was a great touch. It's located right in the centre of Ambleside so shops, pubs and restaurants were all within easy walking distance. We had a faultless stay and we're looking forward to coming back again soon!

Beautifully appointed house and it was spotlessly clean.

The central location meant that everything was on the doorstep. It made our holiday so much easier having items like the hand soap in the bathrooms and kitchen items provided. We had a fabulous stay and would definitely recommend this property.

A fabulous house, very luxurious furnishings, endless crocks and utensils, beds extremely comfortable.

Situation in the middle of Ambleside town perfect. The owners of this property and their housekeeper certainly look after holiday “guests”.
