    “Property selected because of the fabulous views from the lounge diner and bedrooms over Ambleside to the fells, and also location only approx 6 mins walk down to the town.”

    Very comfortable beds and excellent modern efficient showers and big bath.Secure accomodation. Parking on site for one car. TV could be larger and a Smart TV and cooking hob needs to be replaced with an induction hob, otherwise very enjoyable stay and we will be back!

    Thanks for the kind words Julie. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and that we were able to extend it. The TV has a firestick so has the attributes of a smart TV. BT keep promising direct fibre but until it is installed we prefer to keep the flexibility of an aerial based TV together with the firestick to access Prime Netflix and various apps. Property Owner

Rothay 18 is located at Lakelands, an exclusive holiday complex in a quiet location overlooking Ambleside village and the surrounding fells.

If you are looking for a relaxing venue away from passing traffic and yet handy for all village facilities we are sure you will be well pleased with this delightful apartment.

Ideally suited for walkers and tourists you can make the most of your Lake District holiday in any season.

The area abounds in fine walking much of which can be done 'from the door'.

Stroll to Lake Windermere, less than a mile away at Waterhead, to enjoy year round lake cruises and seasonal boat hire or amble down into the village for your daily shopping and eating out.

Ambleside has an excellent cinema, tennis, bowls and pitch and putt to keep all members of the family happy. Accommodation : The apartment is on two floors being serviced by a lift from the parking area at the upper level.

Upstairs, the two good bedrooms (one kingsize double, one twin) both have panoramic views over the village and beyond.

About the location

AMBLESIDE

Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
