Location
This Lake District cottage lies only a stroll from the small village of Crosthwaite, in the north of the Lyth Valley and only a short drive from Bowness and Lake Windermere.
The Lyth Valley is lush and laid back, riddled with picturesque walking and cycling routes and renowned as a peaceful landscape compared to busier Lake District self-catering destinations such as Bowness and Ambleside.
The valley is set apart from Lake Windermere by a row of lower level fells, with plenty of opportunities to climb up high and soak up stunning lake views.
You'll never be too far from attractions, evening entertainment and sophisticated shopping in Bowness village, with Windermere Golf Club also nearby.
Also from Bowness, Windermere Lake Cruises depart to Ambleside and Lakeside.
The Lyth Valley is also renowned for its scattering of high-class country pub restaurants, one of which stands only a stroll away from Highbeck Cottage.
The Punchbowl Inn is one of the most widely-acclaimed Lake District gastropubs, nestling alongside a pretty old church.
