“Disappointing stay at Highbeck Cottage.”
We were 4 adults staying away and therefore having 2 bathrooms was part of our search criteria. When we arrived we discovered that the shower in the main bathroom was broken causing all 4 adults to use the ensuite for our entire stay. I reported the issue whilst we were there but it was not fixed. The ensuite we were all forced to use was covered in mould and the shower chain was black with grime. The windows in the main bathroom were also broken and did not open, along with the windows in the dining room. I complained about the service we received and was initially told there's nothing they could do as we didn't report the issues whilst we were still there, to which I corrected them that I had indeed raised the issues during our stay. They then came back with further excuses and nonsense and have refused to give any money back for all of the issues we encountered. Needless to say we will not be returning to Highbeck cottage, nor will we be using Sykes cottages again who have handled the complaint awfully.

We apologise for the failure with the shower and we understand this is less than ideal. For reference the shower has since been resolved and shouldn't be affecting any future guests either. We are sorry about the build up on the windows, again since your comments these have been deep cleaned and ensured they are kept on top of. We are sorry to hear you found the service poor as we strive high in ensuring our guests are satisfied and are delivered a great service so we apologise we fell short on this occasion.
