“We are now home after a very rainy few days in the Lake District!”
Huntsman Cottage was a very welcome retreat from the rain - we were very appreciative of the real fire after braving the rain. For future guests the only thing that you might need to consider is the road noise. The cottage sits almost on the road and although the cars passing are quite sporadic it can be noisy during typical commuting hours (6-8am and then 4-6pm). If you are a light sleeper I would try and bag the back bedroom first, I would also make sure to use the back door if, like us, you have younger children. As a final note I wanted to mention to location. We enjoyed days in Ulverston (where there is a Tesco for supplies), at Coniston Water and Windermere which were all within 30 minutes drive. We also travelled further afield to Ullswater which was just over an hours drive but a lovely scenic route over the Kirkstone Pass and worth the trip just for the views. Thank you for a lovely stay!
