“An absolutely beautiful old cottage, which has been sympathetically renovated to provide superb, comfortable & high quality accommodation.”
The building has clearly had a substantial £investment, with high quality appliances & decor throught. It's in a beautiful peaceful location and as there are no street lights to create light pollution, the views of the stars in a dark, dark sky on a clear night were stunning, both from outside the cottage and through the upper bedroom Velux windows when lying on the bed. The Pheasant Inn, just a 2 minute walk away is a lovely traditional old English pub, servicing great beer & food-the home made steak & ale pie was the best I've ever tasted in the UK and the local Pheasant ale got a thumbs up from this real ale loving Scotsman! My only niggle, as another reviewer also pointed out (and being a visiting tourist, I've no real right to complain about it), is the chiming of the church bells across the road, every 15 minutes, 24hrs a day. I understand the historical reasons for it, tradition and the olde worlde charm, but in these days, nobody needs a church bell to tell them the time, especially not at 4am on a warm night when your bedroom window is open! But that's an issue for the local residents to endure rather than a visiting tourist, it certainly didn't spoil my enjoyment of this stunning cottage, which is a credit to the owners.
Such a great review. Thank you for taking the time to write such lovely comments. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay.
