Crooklands Apartments

These three apartments that have been beautifully refurbished from an 18th century, semi-detached water mill, in the hamlet of Crooklands in the South Lakes, 6 miles from Kendal and 5.5 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. These spacious apartments have been created within the mill building which is next to a river and each occupies an entire floor with its own private entrance. Furnished in a contemporary fashion, each apartment has open plan living with well-equipped kitchen, dining and sitting areas and all have a woodburning stove which is perfect on chilly evenings to enjoy and relax. Two bathrooms have baths which are ideal for a soak after a day’s exertion while the ground floor apartment has a wet room. The contemporary dining areas all have quality, individual styled dining table and chairs and the tasteful, comfortable soft furnishings are also all slightly different in each sitting area, still keeping the quality modern feel. All apartments share the lawned garden and there are two patio areas with seating, one of which is directly by the river where the mill wheel was once housed. In addition to the garden area the ground floor apartment also has a generous private patio, perfect for enjoying an alfresco meal. Next door is a pub/restaurant and the village shop is only one mile away. These apartments are close to the attractive town of Kendal, often referred to as the gateway to the lakes. There is much to see and do here from Kendal Castle and the Abbot Hall Gallery to visiting the array of shops and eateries with festivals throughout the year. Kirkby Lonsdale is a small but pretty bustling market town with the infamous Devil’s Bridge and beautiful river walk with Ruskin’s steps and vista by the ancient church which will reward you at the end of the walk by the town. There are also the local historic houses of Levens Hall with world class gardens and topiary and Sizergh Castle; both have eateries with mouth-watering fare to tempt you. This area is a walkers’ delight and is also extremely popular for cyclists. The coastal villages of Arnside and Silverdale, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, are both worthy of a visit. These quality stylish apartments are perfectly positioned to easily explore the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, coast and estuary and are ideal for family and friends.
