Josh “I would just like to say the location of this place is as good as it gets, you look out the window and can see bars and restaurants etc.”
Windermere lake is a mile walk or you can get the bus for £2. The apartment was beautifully decorated and spacious, with high ceilings and a lovely little balcony out the back. A nice big island and modern kitchen. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and i had a really nice sleep. We all really enjoyed our stay, however my only criticism is I think the apartment could do with a little bit overall TLC, the showers in the main bathroom and ensuite were not really working correctly ...

A nice big island and modern kitchen. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and i had a really nice sleep. We all really enjoyed our stay, however my only criticism is I think the apartment could do with a little bit overall TLC, the showers in the main bathroom and ensuite were not really working correctly and dripped down onto the taps, the bath is a really big step down to the floor. In the room without the en suit, there were no blinds and the sun was beaming through in the morning. However this did not over shadow or outweigh the positives and we would definitely stay here again.

Sally “Overall this apartment has potential to be lovely.”
However, quite a few niggles: Twin beds not super king as requested No reply to my two phone calls whether there was an iron/board No welcome/info book Lack of crockery - incomplete sets, dirty glass and dirty mug (also chipped) 1 deep cereal bowl not 4 Freezer compartment in Fridge needs defrosting and food left in there Slatted window in front bedroom - wind howling through/noisy and very draughty Poor state of plaster work below this window Broken blind Crack in window pane in back bedroom Toilet roll holder falls off in ensuite Water stain above shower No anti slip mat for shower/bath Small TV with dodgy remote in living room. This apartment could be 10/10 with a little TLC.
- Sally, October 2023Martin “Main bedroom needs a blind on the skylight.”
Woke us up at 4.30am every day. Apart from that - lovely flat.
- Martin, June 2023Ajithgajan “Second time staying at this property.”
First time, two years ago, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The second time, it wasn’t the same. The toilets were not clean - under the toilet seats and around the toilet were definitely not cleaned for a few days at least and we had to thoroughly clean it ourself before using. There was dust in pretty much most of the corners of the room and on top of furniture and cabinets. We were also provided 3 pieces of logs, for 3 nights of stay. There was no kindling left either. We bought more the next day and even left behind half a bag of fire wood of our own. We were provided with a welcome pack (bread, milk, etc) the first time we stayed and we expected that this time too but we didn’t have that. The water pressure was really bad (no water at all) in the upstairs en suite when someone’s using the kitchen or flush the toilet downstairs. The kitchen floors were sticky and some of the utensils were not washed properly. As much as we enjoyed the property the first time and wanted to return, we would not stay here again. The area and town surrounding is lovely though.
- Ajithgajan, October 2022Thank you for your feedback, I'm so sorry that you were disappointed with the property, especially with regards to the cleaning. I will inspect the the property thoroughly myself and raise all issues with the cleaner. With regards to the welcome pack, my apologies but we have never provided bread, milk or logs in a welcome pack. Thank you again for taking the time to give us feedback. Property Owner

Jo “We had a lovely week in Windermere Loft.”
It was the perfect location for our week of walking in the Lake District. The accommodation was as described and was very comfortable and clean. Would suggest new windows are necessary as the frames are very old and will be very draughty in the winter. Also better blinds in the bedrooms as it was very light once the sun was up. Overall though it was a lovely place to stay.
- Jo, July 2022Sarah “Loved the location, very well equipped kitchen, very comfortable and the Netflix was ideal.”
The bedding was stained and actually dirty on one of the twin beds which was disappointing and the house overall could have been cleaner.
- Sarah, May 2022Thank you for your feedback, I can confirm that all bedding is laundered at every changeover so I can only assume the bedding was marked. I will ensure this is replaced. With regards to the overall cleaning I will inspect the the property thoroughly myself and raise all issues with our cleaner. Thank you again for your feedback. was marked. I Property Owner
Sarah “What a fantastic Christmas holiday!”
My husband and I stayed for 7 nights over Christmas and really couldn’t fault any element of our stay at the loft. We really appreciated the extra touches from the owners who had made the place extra cosy and festive. The apartment itself is stunning! Firstly the location is perfect, we visited Brown Sugar over the road on a few occasions (excellent cocktails) and ate out at Hooked and Francines which we’re both exceptional, special mention to the crafty bar which is just around the corner and has a great atmosphere and offers a very cosy environment to have a drink after a long hike which we did a lot of! The apartment is very well equipped, if you want to cook there are plenty of utensils and the bedding and mattress is to a very high standard so we slept well. I found the cleanliness and standard of all fixtures and fittings very high, no complaints and would definitely recommend! We would love to visit again and have taken away some very fond memories of our time spent there, thank you.
- Sarah, December 2021Elaine “The property is in the perfect location in Windermere , close to all amenities and great bolthole for visiting the other beautiful places in the Lakes.”
The property itself needs some attention, the window in the front bedroom is very poorly fitted and need repairing, there are large gaps which means there it's very cold in that room. It would also appear there had been a leak and spray painted over but the paint had been sprayed over the headboard and side table which looks very untidy. We stayed in the back bedroom which had a very comfortable bed. The ensuite was a very welcome addition. The is a large crack in the window pane which probably needs replacing. The lamps in all rooms had not been polished which was disappointing. The main living room was fantastic, great size and very comfy sofas. There were no welcome instructions which we found unusual, perhaps something that needs looking at and we couldn't initially find the WiFi details but did eventually, they had been hidden behind a chair on a wooden board!. I think the provision of some logs and kindling would have been a nice gesture as the property felt cold on arrival. The kitchen appearances was lovely but again, small improvements needed. The freezer in the fridge compartment was totally frozen over and needs defrosting, you couldn't fit anything in however there was a chest freezer but there were contents left in from previous occupants. The top of the tray which the toaster sat on was dirty and not been cleaned. The parking permit is a real bonus and can be used at several locations, this saved us parking costs over the week, thank you. Although the comments about the property are justified, we would stop there again and with some attention to detail, would make this a 5* apartment.
- Elaine, October 2021Rebecca “We stayed with our 4 year old daughter and had a superb time.”
The apartment provides everything that you need, is very comfortable and the location is excellent. Of particular note is the lovely lounge with wood burner, the new kitchen and bathroom and the very comfortable bedrooms. Would definitely recommend and return.
- Rebecca, October 2021David “We had a lovely stay in this beautifully furnished flat, ideally located right in the centre of Windermere.”
The obvious traffic noise did not bother us unduly, though it is loud in the front bedroom, and we had no problem parking overnight on the road in high season or in the nearby car park with the permit provided. The beds were very comfortable and the flat was more spacious than anticipated - particularly the living room where the photos don't do it justice! We'd love to come back!
- David, August 2021Lone “We had a leak in the bathroom and a dripping tap in the kitchen.”
The flat hasn’t been cleaned very well as there was dirty fingerprints on doors and light switches and dust ball underneath the bed and corners. The mattress in the spare room was so hard and you could feel the springs coming through. The window in the spare room could not be opened and the window glass in the main bedroom was cracked. When you pay the amount we payed you expect things to be order and it wasn’t- so we’re disappointed

Lakelovers are responsible for cleaning the property, please be assured your feedback has been noted and passed onto the housekeeping team. Helen “I've stayed at this holiday let before.”
It's in a great location. Whilst they have improved areas of the house by repainting and laying new floors in one of the bedrooms and lounge (lounge is lovely) I felt that the cleaning could have been much better. Full of dust and sock and hair bobbles from other guests under bed which I noticed when looking for a lost shoe. Shower heads also dirty which really is not acceptable especially considering it cost over £1000 for the week. Windows in bedroom are shabby. My son couldnt even open his as it has been sealed. It was very warm weather and therefore too hot in the room.. I did enjoy my stay in the Lakes but these are basic requirements that need sorting.
- Helen, July 2021Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the time taken to send your observations which we have now discussed with the owner. They have taken on board all the points you have raised and have arranged for the windows to be replaced as soon as possible. The Lakelovers housekeeping team will address your comments re level of cleanliness and monitor this moving forward. Thank you once again for your feedback and we do hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner
Neil “The listing included mention of 2 luxury bathrooms.”
They were anything but. The ensuite was fitted with a horrible shower curtain. Water Spread all over the floor with no means to clear it up such as a squeegee. There is a free standing shelf unit for shampoo etc. No shelf or cupboard for storage. The radiator does not work. The second bathroom is marginally nicer but necessitates going downstairs. There was no indication how to use the heating. Enough wood for the first night would be a nice touch.
- Neil, December 2020Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback after your recent stay at Windermere Loft. Following your comments both bathrooms have been updated, adding a bath and new flooring to the main bathroom and a fully enclosed shower and glass screen to the en-suite. We hope that you will return in the future and take advantage of these new features. We hope otherwise you had a lovely stay too. Property Owner
