    “Pros Well spaced out, roomy, clean accommodation.”

    Well decorated with all furniture needed. Great location. Issues were dealt with in a timely manner by their lovely caretaker/ maintenance man (faulty oven, minimal towels). Owner responded to messages about the problems. Cons The ground floor outdoor space/garden is very scruffy without a useable table & chairs. No internet in 1/2 of the house. Darts and snooker cues broken and mainly unusable. Only 1 fridge for 18 people isn’t enough. More hand soap, shower gel and towels would have ...

    We probably didn’t get off to a good start by refusing to take your dog under any circumstances. We are pleased on the issues of cleanliness, fixtures and fittings where you were complimentary and found no fault or issues with those. As regards the cooker,we had a qualified electrician check that out and he could find no fault with the appliance, so we assume it’s been a finger problem. We don’t state we provide whole house internet as the very thick construction of the internal walls would make that almost impossible, the internet provision is good quality and reliable in the living and seating areas of the house and the majority of the sleeping areas also. We recognise the fridge freezer isn’t capable of storing food for 18 people, for more than a limited period of time, but, we never expected anyone would want to do that. With online shopping, well stocked local shop and the Coop in Seascale it was never envisaged there’d be any call for anything more than what we provide and, crucially, we’ve never had a single complaint about lack of storage in the past. We never envisaged people wanting to use the outside ground floor space as we have a magnificent balcony area where ample benches and parasols are provided, here the beautiful views can be enjoyed from an elevated position. We do acknowledge the darts cues and pool cues were deficient, but, if we’d have been advised of this we would have rectified that situation in a very timely manner. Towels and basic toiletries are provided and if there were shortcomings we apologise if the quantity or quality didn’t meet your expectations. Thanks for your feedback. Property Owner

The property

Fairfield is a fabulous and spacious home nestled in the Cumbrian village of Eskdale Green. This nine-bedroom house enjoys a contemporary interior with Jerusalem stone flooring, light and airy rooms and views of the beautiful countryside. On arrival, be greeted by off-road parking for eight cars before stepping inside to explore the kitchen, with its silestone worktops housing everything you need. Relax and unwind in the living/dining room in front of the TV and admire the greenery from the large windows before enjoying a feast at the dining table. For your entertainment, there is a stylish games room with pool table, darts board, table tennis and a corner sofa and card table for an inviting setting. Window door leads out to the enclosed patio, where you can savour a glass of wine; afterwards head upstairs to the roof terrace to watch the sunset. The first floor is divided into two levels and offers five king-size bedrooms, a double and a twin, with one king-size bedroom offering access to the lovely roof terrace. Venture upstairs to the top floor, where you will find a king-size and a double, both with an-suites and Juliet balconies to sip your morning coffee. A short stroll will lead you to a convenience store to stock up on the essentials. For drinking and dining two pubs are within easy walking distance with a further three a short distance away at Boot. Nearby, you can explore Stanley Ghyll Waterfall to watch a cascading fall, immerse yourself in the past at the 2nd-century Hardknott Roman Fort or tee up at Eskdale Golf Course. Visit the small seaside village of Seascale, steeped in history with its Grey Croft Stone Circle and you can wander along Seascale Beach with an ice-cream in hand. The small village of Eskdale Green sits amongst beautiful Lakeland countryside and consists of a scattering of cottages, some farm dwellings and a number of outstanding traditional English pubs serving good food. An area relatively unknown to many Lakeland visitors, this great location boasts a skyline dominated by the towering peaks of Scafell - England's highest peak, as well as Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell, whilst the nearby stunning valleys of Eskdale, Wasdale, Ennerdale and Dunnerdale provide breathtaking and ever-changing scenery to be enjoyed throughout the year.
