Andrew “Excellent property.”
Good location, though the walk back up that hill is a killer!

Stephen “The en suite window in the double bedroom has a problem with the window lock.”
It would have been good to have two sets of keys to the property. Apart from that the property is very well equipped and we had a very enjoyable stay and hope to return in the future.
- Stephen, July 2024Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you had an enjoyable stay. We take your comments regarding the lock on board, and will pass this on to the relevant teams. We hope to welcome you back to the Lakes again. The Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner
Caroline “We love this property having stayed here 6 times in the last 7 years.”
Lovely, well looked after property as always. It was a shame with noise from the building and garden work whilst we were there but can understand it can’t be helped. However, it might be worth a gentle word to ask not to work /make noise in the evenings. Hopefully we will be back soon
- Caroline, May 2024Clare “This was our third stay at Green Moss.”
We don't think it can be bettered in terms of its quiet position, facilities and comfort. Lovely countryside views from the back of the property and yet it's not far from the centre of Ambleside
- Clare, April 2024David “Living room seating could be more comfortable.”
Everything else ok.
- David, March 2024Anne “A lovely spacious property with splendid views.”
Very well equipped- we had everything we needed.
- Anne, September 2023Tony “Fantastically maintained as always.”
Already made four more bookings! Tony & Chris Mather
- Tony, August 2023Joanna “We’ve stayed at Green Moss lots of times from 2014 onwards, house is lovely, great location and very comfortable.”
If I were to suggest any improvements, I would love some more comfortable garden furniture, current dining set great for meals but some loungers with padded seating would be great for chilling out and relaxing in the beautiful garden.
- Joanna, July 2023Julie “We had a wonderful week at Green Moss!”
Terrific location just a short walk into Ambleside with its many restaurants and facilities, and the property itself is very comfortable with everything you need and terrific views. We so enjoyed the garden! - it was even better than we expected, and we saw so much birdlife and wildlife from it - including buzzards, hobby, swifts, owls, jackdaws, blackbirds, great tits and blue tits, rabbits, foxes and more! Lovely morning breakfasts and evening glasses of wine in the garden were just so relaxing and made for a terrific holiday.
- Julie, July 2023Michael “I first came to Green Moss twenty years ago and I keep coming back year after year as Green Moss is a delight to me, looking forward to next year already.”
- Michael, June 2023Anthony “Green Moss was a delightful cottage.”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views surrounding the cottage were breathtaking while the cottage itself was modern with great facilities and a well equipped kitchen. It was a pleasure to wake in such a wonderful cottage and look out onto those incredible views.

Denyse “Lovely spacious bungalow with three fabulous bathrooms.”
The views from the back garden of the hills and mountains where wonderful, watching the many birds was a treat. We had very iffy weather and only managed a few walks from the door, one being in continuous snow up to High Swedon bridge and back by Low Swedon bridge. The water falls and cascades we saw when out and about where great.
- Denyse, March 2023Thank you for your kind feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay, and that you enjoyed the views. We hope to welcome you back again. Property Owner

- Lindsay, September 2021L “We enjoyed our stay in Green Moss very much.”
The property was spotlessly clean and well equipped and comfortable
- L, August 2021Malcolm “Would be nice if the mirror could be replaced in the main bedroom en-suite”
- Malcolm, July 2021Karen “Apart from a lovely stay, this being our 5th at green moss.”
It will be our last. Two reasons, it was a holiday for the 4 of us but sadly mum dies last year. The other, we think you have increased your prices too much
- Karen, July 2021Michael “I have been holidaying here since 2003 and regard Green Moss as a second home, and hope to do so for many more years to come.”
- Michael, June 2021Lynne “Very well appointed property in a beautiful location.”
The power showers and hot water in abundance were much appreciated after days out on the fells. The views from the bungalow were a lovely surprise even through the rain!
- Lynne, May 2021Thelma “Having stayed at this property before it met all of our expectations.”
The property is in an excellent location and the owners have made thoughtul choices about the range and standard of facilities provided. You are made to feel welcome. Just one suggestion for improvement - the king size mattress seems to be on a tilt and was uneven, so sleep quality was affected.
- Thelma, May 2021Unknown “Excellent property this was our third visit we plan to return.”

About the location
AMBLESIDE
Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 4.7 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.
No cot or highchair.
