    “The lodge really does feel like a home away from home—very comfortable, cosy and extremely well maintained.”

    The park itself is beautiful, peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect place to relax. It’s also incredibly dog-friendly, and our dog loved exploring the surrounding area. The location is fantastic for accessing all that the Lake District has to offer, with plenty of beautiful places to visit nearby. This single-storey dwelling, The Burrow, is located in a tranquil area near the village of Haverthwaite, Cumbria.

The Burrow boasts an enviable location in the heart of the Lake District National Park, on-site parking and a private outdoor space where you and your loved ones can soak up the uninterrupted beauty of the River Leven.

Make yourself at home in the spacious open-plan living area, which includes a well-equipped kitchen, dining area and sitting area with a Smart TV where you can keep up to date with your favourite shows or delight a movie marathon on cooler evenings.

Allow your other half to get to grips with a variety of high-quality appliances before settling down at either of the two dining spaces, with the outdoor patio offering a lovely spot to bask in the last of the sun’s rays and saviour an afternoon tipple as you plan for the days ahead.

As day rolls into night, retreat back inside and finish your day in either of the sleek en-suite shower rooms, completing your all-important night-time routine before choosing from a super-king-size and twin single beds to drift off in.

Haverthwaite is a small village and civil parish in the Furness region of Cumbria. It is within the Lake District National Park and is located six miles east of Ulverston, near the southern end of Windermere. The village gets part of its name from the Old Norse word thwaite which usually refers to a clearing or settlement in the forest. Close to the village is Newby Bridge which is at the southern tip of Lake Windermere which takes its name from the five arched stone bridge built in 1651 over the River Leven. The famous Furness Railway, one of Britain's oldest working standard gauge steam railways, runs between Haverthwaite and Newby Bridge. Visit the Lakeside Hotels and enjoy magnificent views across Windermere and the surrounding fells, or enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, where the naturally themed habitats, bring the history of the Lakes vividly to life.
